A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING APPROVING STATE OF CALIFORNIA COMMISSION ON PEACE OFFICER STANDARDS AND TRAINING AGREEMENT NO. 84-011-22 WITH THE REDDING POLICE DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SAME. WHEREAS, the State of California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training requires written training agreements from cities participating in their training programs; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has recommended that the City of Redding Police Department participate in a research program relating to Chapter 1609, Statutes of 1984 (SB 1472, Domestic Violence) sponsored and administered by POST staff; and WHEREAS, the cost to the City of Redding for the participa- tion of one police lieutenant in this program for the period December 1, 1984 to March 31, 1985 will be a sum not to exceed $19,744.00; and WHEREAS, the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training requires a resolution approving participation in said program; and WHEREAS, after careful study and review, it is deemed by the City Council to be in the best interests of the City of Redding and its citizens for the Redding Police Department to participate in such a program; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is not subject to the provisions of CEQA; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that State of California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training Agreement No. 84-011-22 with the City of Redding for the Redding Police Depart- ment is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City of Redding is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agree- ment. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was intro- duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 17th day of December , 1984, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: Demsher, Fulton, Gard, Pugh, & Kirkpatrick NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS: None ATTEST: y ETHEL A.
