A RESOLUTION OF THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ORDERING THE VACATION AND'ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF WEST
STREET SOUTH OF LAUREL AVENUE (A-1-82).
WHEREAS, proceedings have been duly conducted and held in
accordance with the provisions,of,the'Public,Streets, Highways
and Service Easements Vacation Law, Streets and Highways Code
.§8300, et.seq.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding finds and'
determines that the hereinafter described real property is not
necessary for present or prospective street purposes:
NOW, THEREFORE,- the City Council of the City of Redding
hereby resolves and orders as follows:
1. That the City Council make the following findings in
connection herewith:
(a) The project is compatible with the Redding General.
Plan;
(b) The project will not significantly alter the
existing land form;
(c) The project is compatible with the surrounding
land use;
(d) The project is compatible with the Redding Muni-
cipal Code;
and the City Council.>hereby'ratifies'the Negative Declaration
approved by the Board of Administrative Review, on January 2,7,
1982.
2. That certainreal property -in the:City of Redding, '
County of Shasta, State of California, being a portion of West
Street, south of Laurel Avenue, and as the same is more particu-
larly described in Exhibit "A", and as illustrated on Exhibit
"B", attached hereto and incorporated herein, be and the same
hereby is vacated and.abandoned as a street right of way, subject
to the following stipulations:
(a) A'deferred improvement agreement is to be entered
into which provides that at the time of develop-
ment of the area to be abandoned, the property
owner shall install curb, gutter and sidewalk
along Laurel and along the north end of the
cul-de-sac off of Henry Avenue, together with
paving between the new gutter and existing pave-
ment; in addition, the owner shall install all
drainage improvements where the channel crosses
the abandoned area.
(b) Retention of a 15 -foot -wide pedestrian easement
along the west side of the right of way between
Laurel and the cul-de-sac. At the time of
development of the property, the owner is to
construct a. ten=foot-wide concrete walkway from
Laurel to where the new cul-de-sac would
terminate.
(c) Retention of right of way for the development of a
cul-de-sac as depicted on the attached sketch.
(d) Retention ofs'a'drainage easement -along the route
of the existing channel.
3 That the City, l.e . of. the City of Redding be and
hereby is directed to'record a certified copy of this Resolution,
attested to by the City Clerk under the seal•df;the City of
Redding, in the office of the Shasta County Recorder.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 6th day of December 1982, and
was adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

Legal Description: All that portion of the City of Redding
described as follows:
All that portion of West Street as shown on the map of
Boardman Addition to Redding, recorded in the office of the
County Recorder April 9, 1902 in Book 1 of Maps at Page 71,
Shasta County Records and bounded as follows: On the North
by the South line of Laurel Avenue as shown on the map of
Boardman Addition to the Town of Redding recorded August 30,
1901 in Book 1 of Maps at page 57, Shasta County Records; on
the West by the West line of West Street as shown on the map
of Boardman Addition to Redding, recorded April 9, 1902, in
Book 1 of Maps at page 71, Shasta County Records; on the
South by a line described as follows: beginning at the
Southwest. corner of Lot 15, Block 1, as shown on that
certain map of the Boardman Addition to Redding, recorded
April 9, 1902, in Book 1 of Maps at page 71, Shasta County
Records; thence from a tangent bearing N. 44152111" W., on a
50 foot radius curve to the left, through a central angle of
106°15137", a distance of 92.73 feet to a point on the
Westerly right of way line of West Street, as shown on said
Boardman Addition map; and on the East by the West line of
Lots 15,16 and 17, Block 1, as shown on said map of Boardman
Addition to Redding recorded April 9, 1902 in Book 1 of Maps
at page 71, Shasta County Records.
