A'RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING CONSENTING TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS' AND APPLYING TO LAFCO FOR APPROVAL OF THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDDING OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED CITY OF REDDING ANNEXATION NO. 81-12, (SHASTA VIEW DRIVE). BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows: 1. That, pursuant to the,provisions of- the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, a petition for annexation, signed by owners of more than five per cent (58) of the�land•in-the hereinafter described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll.of"the County of Shasta, was filed with the City Council of the City of Redding on December 21, 1981. 2. That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the City of Redding and which said City and its Council propose to annex, is uninhabited territory situate in the County of Shasta, State of California, desig- nated "City of Redding Annexation No. 81-12", (Shasta View Drive), and more particularly described in "Exhibit A" and depicted on "Exhibit B", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is. the advantage to"property owners within this territory of the availability of City services such as electric power, water and sewer service, and.fire and police protection. 4. That the City Council hereby requests that the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County commence -1- proceedings for the annexation to the City of Redding.of the ,territory designated "City of Redding Annexation No.-81-12", pur suant to'the Municipal Organization•Act of 1977. 5,.'..That a plan for providing services within the affected territory•is'set forth in "Exhibit C" attached hereto, and incorporated herein"by reference, as required by Government Code Section 35102. 6. RA DALL A."HAYS, r•ity Attorney -2- EXHIBIT A LEGAL DESCRIPTION CITY Of REDDING ANNEX NO. 81-12 All that portion of the N.E. 1/4 of the S.W. 1/4 of Section 4, T. 31 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M., described as follows: Commencing at the center of Section 4, T. 31 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M.; thence along the east -west midsection line N. 89°58'53" W., 889.22 feet to the north- east corner of the parcel conveyed to Henry J. Krantz by Deed recorded July 28, 1977 in Book 1444 of Official Records, at page 456, Shasta County Records and to the point of beginning on the City of Redding boundary line; thence leaving said City of Redding boundary line and continuing N. 89°58'53" W., 442.10 feet to the northwest corner of said Krantz parcel; thence S. 0°36'58" W., 340.25 feet to the northwest corner of the McTody Manor Subdivision, Unit No. 5 as shown on the map recorded August 17, 1977 in Book 15 of Maps, at page 29, Shasta County Records and to the City of Redding boundary line; thence along said line and along the north line of said Subdivision, N. 89°58'25" E., 444.24 feet to the southeast corner of said Krantz parcel; thence Northerly, 340 feet more or less to the point of beginning. go :�I C 2w n/B9'58,53ii 66VZ2, ,cO4 1 CE.(%TEP SECT d ,e7vE CiT� nt� :r�En�r�✓y it,1Q C51-12 0 EXHIBIT "C" 0 PLAN FOR PROVIDING SERVICES AS REQUESTED BY SECTION 35102 OF TiIE GOVERNMENT CODE Upon annexation, the following services will be available to `.h ;abject area: rater, sewer, solid -waste collection, police irotcction, fire protection, and maintenance of public streets. These services will be provided in the same manner in which they are provided to all parcel: within the Ciey of Redding. In addition, electric -utility services will be acquired from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company by the City, it is not anticipated that sewer service will be extended outside the estab- lished sewer- service -area boundary of the Residing Regional 'Wastewater, Treatment Plant.
