A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ESTABLISHING ELECTRICAL UTILITY RATES FOR SERVICE TO
CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE . CITY OF
REDDING.
WHEREAS , Section 16 . 12 . 320 of the Redding Municipal Code
provides that the City Council shall establish electric utility
rates by resolution, and
WHEREAS , due to the projected increased cost of wholesale
power provided to the City by the Western Area Power Administration
of the U . S . Department of Energy, and to provide funds for the
power resource development program and capital improvement programs
of the City Electric Department, it has been recommended that the
City Council adopt new increased electric utility rates as estab-
lished in the attached "CITY OF REDDING MUNICIPAL UTILITIES Schedule
of Rates" , which is attached hereto and marked "Exhibit A" , and
WHEREAS , theCity Council has carefully considered this
recommendation and has reviewed the existing electric utility rate
structure and has studied the proposed increased costs of wholesale
power to the City and the power source development and capital
improvement programs of the Electric Department, and deems it to be
in the best interests of the City of Redding to establish the new
increased electric rates as proposed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Redding, pursuant to Section 16 . 12 . 320 of the Redding
Municipal Code, does hereby approve and adopt as the established
rates for municipal electric -service to customers within the cor-
porate limits of the City of Redding those rates and charges set
forth in the "CITY OF REDOING MUNICIPAL UTILITIES Schedule of Rates" ,
which is attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and incorporated herein .

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this
Resolution shall be July 7 , 1982 , as to the power furnished to
the customers of the City of Redding electric utility after that
date for which meter readings occur on or after August 7 , 1982 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the purposes for the imposi-
tion of these increases are as follows: (1) to meet the costs of
purchased power, (2) for meeting operating expenses, including
employee wage rates and fringe benefits , ( 3) purchasing or leasing
supplies , equipment or materials, (4) meeting financial reserve
needs and requirements , (5) obtaining funds for capital projects,
necessary to maintain service within existing service areas , or
(6) obtaining funds necessary to maintain such intra-city transfers
as are authorized by law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk and the Finance
Director of the City of Redding both be and they hereby are directed
to maintain available. certified copies of this Resolution in their
respective offices for inspection and review by any interested
person or persons.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 6th „day of July , 19.82 , and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote':

RESIDENTIAL - Applicable to domestic lighting in
combination with heating , cooking and single-phase power
service in single-family dwellings and apartments , separately
metered by the City of Redding.

Primary Service Discount :
4% when service is taken at available line voltages
of 12 , 000 volts or higher ; 3% when service is taken at
available line voltages of 2 , 000 to 10 , 000 volts .
Power Factor Adjustment :
When the billing demand has exceeded 500 KW for three
consecutive months and thereafter until it has fallen below
200 KW for twelve consecutive months , billing (except minimum
bills) will be decreased or increased , respectively , 0 . 125%
for each 1% that the average power factor customer' s load in
the month was greater or lower than 95% (computed to nearest
whole per cent) .
Billing Demand :
The maximum 15-minute measured demand in the current
month .
When the load is intermittent or subject to violent
fluctuations , utility may base billing demand upon a five-min-
ute interval instead of a 15-minute interval .
Where monthly use of energy exceeds 24 , 000 KWH , a demand
meter will be installed . During the time usage exceeds 24 , 000
KWH per month and demand meter is not installed , demands will be
estimated for billing purposes .
FIXED RATE - Applicable to loads where metering equipment
is not installed . May be utilized for single-and three-phase
service where usage is fixed or subject to flat-rate contract.

Applicable to industrial and commercial heating, cooking,
water heating, power, rectifier , and small , single-phase
power service .
Alternating current service will be supplied at standard
voltage , single-and three-phase , 60 cycles . This rate will
not be assigned to new customers after August 1 , 1975 .
