A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING' CONSENTING TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS AND APPLYING TO LAFCO FOR APPROVAL OF THE ANNEXATION, TO THE CITY OF'REDDING OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED -CITY OF,REDDING ANNEXATION NO. 81-11,.'; (LAKE BOULEVARD EAST). BE IT RESOLVED by'the City'Council°of the City,of Redding as . follows: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Organization Act of 1977,'a petition'for annexation, signed by owners of more than five. per,cent :(5%) of the,,land in�the hereinafter described territory, by area�and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Shasta, was filed with the City Council of the City of•Redding on November 2,.1981. 2. That the territory which the petitioner's request be annexed.to the City of Redding.•and which said City and its Council propose to annex,. is uninhabited territory situate in the County of Shasta; State ofCalifornia,,(3 esig- nited alifornia„desig- nited "City of Redding,Annexation No.•81-11","(Lake Boulevard East), and more particularly described in "Exhibit A" and de- picted on "Exhibit B",. attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is the advantage to property owners within this'territory of the availability of City services such as:electric power, water and sewer service, and fire and police protection. 4. -That the City Council hereby requests that the Local•Agency Formation.Commission of Shasta County commence proceedings„for'the,annexation to the City of Redding of the 0 0 territory designated "City of -Redding Annexation'No. 81-11" pur- suant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977:., 5. That a plan for providing services within the affected territory is set forth in "Exhibit C" attached hereto and•incorporated herein by reference, as required by Government Code Section 35102. 6. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be filed, along with appropriate fees, with the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County. ', of Section 19, T. 32 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M., described as follows: Commencing at the W. ; corner of Section 19, T. 32 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M., as shown on the map recorded May 13, 1976, in Book 8 of Parcel Maps, at page 121, Shasta County Records; thence along the east -west midsection line of said Section 19, N. 890 06' 20" E., 500.00 feet to the northeast corner of the parcel conveyed to Henry V. These services will be provided in the same manner in which they are provided to all parcels within the City of Redding. In addition, electric -utility services will be acquired from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company by the City. It is not anticipated that sewer service will be extended outside the estab- lished sewer -service -area boundary of the Redding Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
