WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was duly held on the 13th day of April , 1982, for the pu,rpose of electing three City Council Members and a ,City Clerk for a full term of four years, and for the purpose of deciding two measures, as set forth hereinafter, and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Redding has canvassed the returns of said election pursuant to law, � NOW, THEREfORE, the City Council of the City of Redding resolves, declares and affixes as follows: 1 . That the measures submitted to the electors at said election and the total votes for and against each of said measures are as follows: � . t ' Measure A ` � S�iaf�the City of Redding, as a member of the M-S-R Public Power Agency, a joint powers entity, authorize such joint powers agency to issue revenue bonds or notes in the estimated principal amount of $300,000,000.00, pursuant YES 2970 to Ordinance No. 1562, dated October 5, 1981 , , such bonds or notes to be used in the follow- ing manner: to provide .the cost of purchasing an interest in the Arizona Nuclear Power Project - from El Paso Electric Company for the generation . of electric capacity and energy for the use of NO 5287 the members of M-S-R, and other utilities which contract� therefor, and for sale to the United States for the use of the Central Valley Project. The anticipated source of revenue for the pay- ment of the bonds or notes are the proceeds of other �otes, or of bonds subsequently issued, the revenues of M-S-R, and the payments made by the members of M-S-R, the United States, and other utilities, for the ri,ght to receive power from the Arizona Nuclear Power Project under the ownership interest of the M-S-R Public Power Agency? • Measure B .
