HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 82-092 - Intention to Begin Legal Proceedings of Abatement Under Chapter 9.36 of the Redding Municipal Code on Certain Real Property in the City of Redding (Owned by Bruce and Judith Ames, 2449 Court Street)# . • RESOLUTION NO. <5'2 '9,2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER CHAPTER 9 . 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned by Bruce and Judith Ames, 2449 Court Street . ) WHEREAS , the provisions of Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures which are structurally unsafe , or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, de- cay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons , may be declared a nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as provided therein , and WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the building located on real property as hereinafter described, and has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and public welfare, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is cate- gorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding, as follows : That it is the intention of this City Council to begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code on the following described property : All that real property situate in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of California, more particularly described as follows: The westerly 68 . 60 feet of Lots 2 , 3 and 4 in Block "V" as shown on the map of Boardmans Addition to Redding , recorded in the office of the County Recorder on October 30 , 1901 , in Book 1 of Maps at Page 57 , Shasta County Records , said westerly 68 . 60 feet to be measured at right angles to the west line of said Lots 2 , 3 and 4 . - , . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned here- inabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code , and is hereby ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of Shasta County for recordation.
