A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 9 . 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned by
Bruce and Judith Ames, 2449 Court Street . )
WHEREAS , the provisions of Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures which are
structurally unsafe , or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, de-
cay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort
for vagrant or dissolute persons , may be declared a nuisance by
the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein , and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
building located on real property as hereinafter described, and
has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and
public welfare, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is cate-
gorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding, as follows :
That it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code on the following described property :
All that real property situate in the City of Redding,
County of Shasta, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:
The westerly 68 . 60 feet of Lots 2 , 3 and 4 in Block "V"
as shown on the map of Boardmans Addition to Redding ,
recorded in the office of the County Recorder on
October 30 , 1901 , in Book 1 of Maps at Page 57 , Shasta
County Records , said westerly 68 . 60 feet to be measured
at right angles to the west line of said Lots 2 , 3 and 4 . -

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned here-
inabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code , and is hereby ordered
to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to
take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward
a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of
Shasta County for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 6th day of July , 1982 , and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote :

NOES : COUNCILMEN: None
