SUBJECT: 2C--Consider Resolution and presentation of appreciation clock honoring
Kimberly A. Niemer for distinguished service as the City of Redding's Director of Community
Services.
Recommendation
Award City of Redding Clock of Appreciatian; and adopt Resolution honoring Kimberly A.
Niemer for her distinguished service as the City of Redding's Director of Community Services.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
COMMENDING KIMBERLY NIEMER FOR OUTSTANDING DEDICATED
SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING
WHEREAS, Kimberly Niemer began her career with the City of Redding on November 4, 1996, and
has served as Personnel Analyst, Management Assistant to the City Manager, and Director of Community
Services; and
WHEREAS,Ms.Niemer has effectively and expertly managed the direction,organization,and operation
of the Buildings and Facilities Maintenance Division, Communications Division, Parks Maintenance Division,
Shasta Public Libraries, Redding Tourism, Redding Convention Center, Recreation Division, the Redding
Aquatic Center, Martin Luther King Center; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure with the City of Redding, Ms. Niemer was instrumen�al in leading a
number of projects and programs for the City of Redding, such as:
• Martin Luther King Jr. Center • Numerous Parks and Trails Projects
• Turtle Bay East,Nur Pon and Kum Bay • Fantasy Fountain at Kids Kingdom
Xerel Open Space Areas • Kids Kingdom II
• Community Creek Clean-up • South City Park Activation Plan
• City of Redding Communications Team • Highland Park
• Art in Public Places Program • Salt Creek Heights Park
• Sculpture Park at City Hall • Park Host Housing
• Big League Dreams • Grant Awards for Panorama Park
• Aquatic Center • Farmers Market Rebranding and Sponsorship
• Sundial Bridge Opening and 10-Year • Shasta Public Library Citizens Advisory
Celebration Commission
• Opening of the new Burney Library • Youth Scholarship Fund
• Redding Skate Park • Bureaucracy Buster initiative
• The Park at Carnegie Park • Lean-In-Circle for City of Redding staff
WHEREAS,in addition to her busy schedule,Ms.Niemer has also demonstrated outstanding community
leadership in the following areas:
• Northern Valley Catholic Social Service Board of Directors
• University Preparatory School Board
• Founding Member of the Healthy Shasta Board and President
• Manzanita School Site Council
• Association of American University Women Board of Directors
WHEREAS, in performance of her duties and responsibilities,Ms.Niemer has always served the City of
Redding with pride, professionalism, and distinction while providing a high level of integrity and a focus on the
community and its citizens; and in recognition of her exemplary leadership skills;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding hereby
expresses its deep appreciation to Kimberly Niemer for her dedication, enthusiasm, and the countless and long-
lasting contributions she has made to Shasta County, the City of Redding, and its citizens, and wishes her future
success and happiness as she retires from public service.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Redding on the 21 st day of November, 2023, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the
following vote:
