A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCZL OF TIiE CITY OF REDDIL7G
APPROVING THE REPORT AND FINDINGS OF THE BOARD OF APPEALS
AND ORDERING THE ABATEMENT OF THE UNSAFE AIdD UNSIGHTLY
BUILDING AND DEBRIS ON PROPERTY AT 1122 WILLIS STREET.

WHEREAS, on December 7 , 1981, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 81-275, a Resolution of Intention to begin abatement
proceedings under the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
P4unicipal Code, affecting property owned by, Luise Y. Reed, at 1122
Willis Street in the City of Redding, being Assessor' s Parcel No.
105-280-01, and more particularly described in said Resolution No.
81-275, and �
WHEREAS, notice of hearing by the Board of Appeals on
this abatement proceeding has been posted on the subject property
and mailed to the owner of record by certified mail, and
WHEREAS, on January 28, 1982, and on February 25, 1982 ,
public hearings were held before said Board of Appeals as provided
in said Municipal Code, and testimony received by the Board, and
no person objecting to said abatement proceeding, the said Board
of Appeals found that good and sufficient cause does not exist why
the unsafe and unsightly building on said property should not be
abated, and �
�vAEREAS, said Board of Aopeals having filed with this
City Council its report of the hearing and its recommendation for
abatement, by rehabilitation or demolition,
IdOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redding that the report of the Board of AppeaTs of the a

� building existing on property at 1122 Willis Street should be
abated by rehabilitation or demolition, be and said report is
hereby approved: ' •
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that the Fire
Marshal of the City of Redding is hereby directed to abate said un-
safe and unsightly condition after a period of thirty (30) days, by
having the unsafe and unsightly building demolished and removed, if . .
trie owner fails to rehabilitate or demolish within said period, and
the Fire Marshal and his authorized representatives are expressly
authorized to enter upon the' property for that purpose, and are
directed to keep an itemized account of the cost of abatement, to
be assessed aqainst the property if not paid by the owner.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution
shall ,be served upon the property owner in accordance with the pro-
visions of Section 9. 36. 060 of the Redding Municipal Code, and the
property owner shall have the right to have such unsafe and unsightly
building abated at her own expense, providing the same is done prior
to the expiration of thirty (30) days.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 15th day of MarCh , 1982 , and was' duly adopted
at said meetinq by the following voter •
