A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING ML'NICIPAL CODE ON
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned
by Larry D. Overr.:an, 819 Wesb Street) .
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
t"unicipal Code provide that all buildings �or structures which are
structurally .unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, de-
cay or other causes within the City of Reddir.g, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human 1ife, or a likely resort
' for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by
the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided . therein, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
building located on real property as hereinafter described, and
has declared it to be unsafe arid/or a hazard to safety, health
and public welfare, and
t�TfIEREAS, it has been determined that this.,matter is cate-
gorically exempt fror� the provisions of CEQP.,.
NOF1, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding as follows:
That it is the intention of this Citl Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9 .36 of the Redding
Municipal Code on the followina described property :
The northerly 50 . 00 feet of Lot 3 , B1ocY. D, as shown on
the map of Schearer ' s Addition to Redding, filed January
25, 1887 , in Book of Old Plats, page 99, Shasta County
Records, described as follows : �
Beginning at the most northerly corner of Lot 3 ; thence, �
southeasterly along the northeasterly boundary of Lot 3 ��
a distarice of 50 . 00 feet; thence at right angles 150.00 �
feet to a point on the southwesterly boundary of Lot 3; �
thence north��esterly 50. 00 feet to the most westerly �
corner of Lot 3; thence along the northwesterly boundary _

of Lot 3 a distance of 150 .00 feet to the point of
beqinning.
• BE IT FIIRTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned here-
inabove 'is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
. Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code, and is hereby ordered
to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, or removal .
BE IT FUF.THER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code.
� ' BE, IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of ' this Resolution to the County Recorder of Shasta
County for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 18th day of Janudry , 1982, and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote:
