A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
PERTAINING TO-PERS CONTRIBUTIONS FOR MISCELLANEOUS
EMPLOYEES NOT COVERED BY A -MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING.
WHEREAS, City staff has, recommended an amendment,to'the
City"s policy on'_PERS contributions for.miscellaneous employees not
'covered by a Memorandum of Understanding, and
WHEREAS,•the City Council has studied the:City's existing
policy on:PERS•'contr<ibutions and deems it in the best interests of
. 'the City .of 'Redd ..ng to adopt such recommendation,
NOW, THEREFORE., .BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
;- the City of'Redding hereby adopts a new policy on PERS-'contributions
for miscellaneous employees not covered'by a Memorandum of Under-
standing,. -as set forth in "Exhibit A"., attached hereto and incor-
porated he`rein by reference, =effective on- July 5„•1981.

EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT PROGRAM
1. All regular and probationary employees are covered by a State
of California Public Employees' Retirement System program pursuant to an
existing contract with the Public Employees' Retirement System. The City
pays three percent (3%) of the employees' normal contribution to the Public
Employees' Retirement System. For those Miscellaneous members of the
retirement system not covered by a Memorandum of Understanding: Effective
July 5, 1981 the City will increase its payment to five percent (5%);
Effective July 4, 1982 the City will increase its payment to six percent
(6%); Effective July 3, 1983 the City will pay the employees' full cost
of participation in the Public Employees' Retirement System.
