A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE CITY.OF REDDING
PERTAINING TO.POLICY ON -JURY DUTY FOR REGULAR'AND
PROBATIONARY -EMPLOYEES NOT COVERED BY A MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING.
WHEREAS, the City'of Redding's existing policy on Jury Duty
for regular and probationary employees not covered by a Memorandum of
Understanding was adopted, along with other City employee policies, ;
by Resolution No. 78-1.59,which has now been rescinded, and
WHEREAS, it''is therefore necessary to re-adopt,said Jury
Duty policy for such employees, as set forth in the attached "Exhibit
A"., incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interests of
the City of Redding to re -adopt its policy on Jury Duty,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Redding hereby re -adopts its policy on Jury Duty for
regular and probationary employees not covered by a Memorandum of
Understanding, as set forth in "Exhibit A", attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference, -effective on July 5, 1981.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Redding on the 29th day of June 1981, and was duly:
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

JURY DUTY
•
1. Except for those employees who are covered by the provisions of a
Memorandum of Understanding, a regular or probationary employee who is
summoned for jury duty and is thus unable to perform his regular duties
will be paid for the time lost at his regular rate of pay.
2. Whenever any employee is subpoenaed to testify in court as a result
of his employment and is thus unable to perform his regular duties, he
shall be paid for all regular time lost provided that his testimony is not
contrary to the best interest of the City.
