A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING PERTAINING TO POLICY ON FUNERAL LEAVE FOR REGULAR AND PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEES NOT COVERED BY A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING., WHEREAS, the City Counc'il,'of ,the City,'.of Redding adopted a policy on Emergency Leave for regular"and probationary employees not 'covered by a Memorandumof-Under.standing,.a,long with other City employee policies, by Resolution No. 78-159 which -has now been rescinded, and WHEREAS, it has been recommended that a policy entitled "Funeral Leave".,be substituted,, as set forth in the attached "Exhibit A", incorporated herein by reference, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems.it in the best interests'of the City of Redding to approve such recommendation, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of C,co c - the City of Redding hereby adopts a policy on Funeral Leave for w 0 cn regular and probationary employees not covered by a Memorandum of m Understanding, as set forth in "Exhibit A", attached hereto and � n incorporated -herein by reference, effective on July 5, 1981. v - I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolutionwas inti co rn duced and read at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Counc: co of the City of Redding on the 29th day of June 1981, and was adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN • Demsher, Fulton, Gard, Kirkpatrick, and Pugh NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None ATTEST: ARC :8,RZ �•::;itayor of e' City of Redding ETHEL A. Except for those employees who are covered by the provisions of a Memorandum of Understanding, regular and probationary employees who are absent from work due to the death of a member of the employee's "immediate family" shall receive compensation at the regular rate of pay for the time necessary to be absent from work, but not to exceed forty (40) working hours. "immediate family" as used herein includes only employee's spouse, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, parents, or grandparents of either spouse or other persons who are living in the employee's immediate household. 2. Regular employees who are absent from work to attend the funeral of a person other than an immediate family member shall receive compensation at the regular rate of pay for the time necessary to be absent from work, but'not to exceed one (1) regularly scheduled work day.
