A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
COMMENDING K-9 ASKO FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT
WHEREAS, K-9 Asko, owned and handled by Redding Police
Officer Kenneth R. Kramerman, was killed accidentally on May 19,
1981, while engaged in a search for escaped prisoners from the
Shasta County Jail, and
WHEREAS, K-9 Asko was certified for duty with the Redding
Police Department on May 16, 1979, after numerous hours of intensive
training with Officer Kramerman, during the officer's off-duty time
and at his own expense, and
WHEREAS, during his period of service with the Police
Department, K-9 Asko performed in an exemplary manner the duties of
a police dog, rendering assistance in many building security checks
and searches, and participating in the arrest of more than sixty
suspects, as well as performing K-9 demonstrations for schools and
civic organizations to further the public's education and understand-
ing of the role of police dogs in law enforcement, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding is most
appreciative of the valuable services rendered by K-9 Asko, under
his oo-merjhandl.er Officer 1Cramerman, and deems it fitting and proper
that its appreciation be prose reed upon the official records of the
City,
NOW, T1110EFORE, DE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
tl:e City of Redding hereby commends K-9 Asko for outstanding service

the citizens of Redding and Shasta County, and expresses its apprecia-
tion also to Asko's owner/handler Officer Kenneth R. Kramerman, for
his continuing efforts and participation in the Redding Police Depart-
ment K-9 Program.
WE HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution is unani-
mously adopted by the entire City Council.
