BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows: '1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Organization Act of 1977, a petition for annexation, signed by owners of more than five per cent (5%) of the land in the hereinafter described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Shasta, was filed with the City Council of the City of Redding on May 4, 1981. 2. That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the,City of Redding and which said City and its Council propose to annex, is uninhabited territory situate in the County of Shasta, State of California, desig- nated "City of Redding Annexation No. 81-8", (Henderson Road area), and more particularly described in "Exhibit A" and depicted on "Exhibit B", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is the advantage to property owners within this territory of the availability of City services such as electric power, water and sewer service, and fire and police protection. 4. That the City Council hereby requests that the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County commence proceedings for the annexation to the City of Redding of the U -1- territory designated "City of Redding Annexation No. 81-8", pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977. 5. That a plan for providing services within the affected territory is set forth in "Exhibit C" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, as required by Government Code Section 35102. 6. That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution, along with appropri- ate fees, with the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Forma- tion Commission of Shasta County. These services will be provided in the same manner in which they are provided tc all parcel; within the City of Redding. In addition, electric -utility services will be acquired from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company by the City. It is not anticipated that sewer service will be extended outside the e0ab- lished sewer -service -area boundary of the Redding Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
