RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY.OF REDDING
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 81-63, INITIATING PROCEEDINGS
FOR ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF.REDDING OF UNINHABITED
TERRITORY. DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "CITY OF REDDING
ANNEXATIONLLNO.',81-:' ('ARIZONA�STREET AREA), AND GIVING
NOTICE OF A NEW_TIME AND' kPLACE`FOR HEARING PROTESTS.
BE, IT RESOLVED by' ttie, City °Cpuncil of the City of Redding
as follows: k `•'
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal
Organization Act of 1977, the City Council of the City of Redding,
on January 5, 1981,:adopted'.Resolution No. 81-1, consenting to
the commencement of annexation proceedings and applying to the
Local Agency Formation.Commission for approval of the annexation
to the City of Redding'of uninhabited territory designated "City '
of Redding Annexation No. 81-1," (Arizona Street), in response to
informal petitions for annexation signed by owners of land in
the hereinafter described territory.
2. That the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta
County, in session duly assembled on April 8, 1981, after notice
and hearing, considered and approved said annexation, but modified
the legal description of the annexation area, so Resolution No.
81-63 which contained the original legal description and set the
protest hearing for June 1, 1981, is hereby rescinded.
3. That the territory now proposed to be annexed to the
ity of'Redding is situate in the County of Shasta, State of Calif-
ornia, more particularly described in "Exhibit A" attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference.
4. That the protest hearing in connection herewith is
now set for June 15, 1981, at 7:30 P.M. in the City Council Chambers
at 1313.,California Street, Redding, Shasta County, California, at �C

which time and place any person now owning real property within
the territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the
City of Redding, and having any objections to the proposed annexa-
tion, may appear before the City Council, and show cause why such
territory should not be so annexed to the City of Redding. The
protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time prior to the
termination of said protest hearing, and shall state the name or
names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description
and area of such property in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Redding is hereby
authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be
published twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Redding
Record -Searchlight, a newspaper of general circulation published
in said City of Redding, the city to which it is proposed to annex
the aforesaid territory, said "publication to be complete at least
twenty (20) days prior to the date set.forr.hearing`.
6. The City Clerk of the City of Redding is further
authorized and directed to cause a copy�of this Resolution to be
published twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Valley
Times, a newspaper of general circulation published outside of the
City of Redding but in the County of Shasta, in which is located the
territory proposed to be annexed, said publication to be complete
at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for the hearing.
7. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
file a copy of this Resolution with the Executive Officer of LAFCO.
8. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to
each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed
was assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll available

on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the ad-
dresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and
to any person who has filed his name and address and the designa-
tion of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal.or
equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than
ten (10) days before the first public hearing on the proposed
annexation.
9. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to
the Board of Supervisors of Shasta County, since the County has a
legal interest in certain portions of the territory proposed to be
annexed.
10. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice
to be given to chief petitioners and such other persons as may be
legally entitled thereto, in the'manner required by law.
11. The City Clerk is•directed to cause notice to be
posted on or near the doors of the City Council Chambers for at
least 15 days prior to the date specified herein for hearing, and
continuing to the time of hearing.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 4th day of May , 1981, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

All that portion of Section 17, T. 31 N., R. 4 W., M.D.M., described
as follows:
PARCEL 1: The N. 1/2 of the N.E. 1/4 of the S.W. 1/4 and the S.E.
1/4 of the N.E. 1/4 of the S.W. 1/4 of Section 17, T. 31 N., R. 4
W., M.D.M.
PARCEL 2: Commencing at the center of Section 17, T. 31 N., R. 4
W., M.D.M.; thence along the City of Redding boundary line and along
the north -south midsection line of said Section 17, N. 0005'24" W.,
703.91 feet to the point of beginning; thence continuing along said
line N. 0005124" W., 180.58 feet; thence leaving said City of Redding
boundary line, S. 23026110" E., 150.19 feet; thence S. 77°56'08" W.,
73.00 feet to the point of beginning.
