That, pursuant to the.provisions.of the'•Municipal . -Organization Act-of'1977,- a petition -for annexation, signed 'by owners of.more than five'per cent (50) of the land in; the ' hereinafter..described territory-, by 'area.'and by assessed value as shown ',oh the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Shasta -;,''was filed with the City'Council of the. City of Redding on October 19., 1981. ; 2. That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the. City. of Redding and which --said City. and its Council propose to annex,'is inhabited territory situate in the. County, o,f Shasta, State of California.,, desig- - nated "City of Redding'Annexation No. 80-12", (Western Ranches. area), .and more particularly described in,"Exhibit A" and,de- picted on "Exhibit B", attached hereto -and ihcorp,orated herein by' reference. 3. That the reason for the proposed annexa•tioh.-i's .the advantage to property owners within this territory of:- ,.the`'availabili•ty of .City services such as.electric power,` ::water and sewer service, and fire and police- protection. 4. These services will be provided in the same manner in which they are provided to all parcels within the City of Redding. In addition, electric -utility services will be acquired from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company by the City. It is not anticipated that sewer service will be extended outside the estab- lished seti•wer-service-area boundary of the Redding Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
