HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2023-120 - Commending Kimberly Niemer for Outstanding Service to the City of ReddingRI T Y O F R ®I"tib C C A L I F O R: RESOLUTION NO. 2023-120 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING COMMENDING KIMBERLY NIEMER FOR OUTSTANDING DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING WHEREAS, Kimberly Niemer began her career with the City of Redding on November 4, 1996, and has served as Personnel Analyst, Management Assistant to the City Manager, and Director of Community Services; and WHEREAS, Ms. Niemer has effectively and expertly managed the direction, organization, and operation of the Buildings and Facilities Maintenance Division, Communications Division, Parks Maintenance Division, Shasta Public Libraries, Redding Tourism, Redding Convention Center, Recreation Division, the Redding Aquatic Center, Martin Luther King Center; and WHEREAS, during her tenure with the City of Redding, Ms. Niemer was instrumental in leading a number of projects and programs for the City of Redding, such as: • Martin Luther King Jr. Center • Turtle Bay East, Nur Pon and Kum Bay Xerel Open Space Areas • Community Creek Clean-up • City of Redding Communications Team • Art in Public Places Program • Sculpture Park at City Hall • Big League Dreams • Aquatic Center • Sundial Bridge Opening and 10 -Year Celebration • Opening of the new Burney Library • Redding Skate Park • The Park at Carnegie Park • Martin Luther King Jr. Center • Turtle Bay East, Nur Pon and Kum Bay Xerel Open Space Areas • Community Creek Clean-up • City of Redding Communications Team • Art in Public Places Program • Sculpture Park at City Hall • Big League Dreams • Aquatic Center • Sundial Bridge Opening and 10 -Year Celebration • Opening of the new Burney Library • Redding Skate Park • The Park at Carnegie Park • Numerous Parks and Trails Projects • Fantasy Fountain at Kids Kingdom • Kids Kingdom II • South City Park Activation Plan • Highland Park • Salt Creek Heights Park • Park Host Housing • Grant Awards for Panorama Park • Farmers Market Rebranding and Sponsorship • Shasta Public Library Citizens Advisory Commission • Youth Scholarship Fund • Bureaucracy Buster initiative • Lean -In -Circle for City of Redding staff • Numerous Parks and Trails Projects • Fantasy Fountain at Kids Kingdom • Kids Kingdom II • South City Park Activation Plan • Highland Park • Salt Creek Heights Park • Park Host Housing • Grant Awards for Panorama Park • Farmers Market Rebranding and Sponsorship • Shasta Public Library Citizens Advisory Commission • Youth Scholarship Fund • Bureaucracy Buster initiative • Lean -In -Circle for City of Redding staff WHEREAS, in addition to her busy schedule, Ms. Niemer has also demonstrated outstanding community leadership in the following areas: • Northern Valley Catholic Social Service Board of Directors • University Preparatory School Board • Founding Member of the Healthy Shasta Board and President • Manzanita School Site Council • Association of American University Women Board of Directors WHEREAS, in performance of her duties and responsibilities, Ms. Niemer has always served the City of Redding with pride, professionalism, and distinction while providing a high level of integrity and a focus on the community and its citizens; and in recognition of her exemplary leadership skills; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding hereby expresses its deep appreciation to Kimberly Niemer for her dedication, enthusiasm, and the countless and long- lasting contributions she has made to Shasta County, the City of Redding, and its citizens, and wishes her future success and happiness as she retires from public service.
