Background/Analysis
Planning Commissioner Bert Meyer’s passing on January 24, 2023, created an unscheduled
vacancy on the Planning Commission. In accordance with the Maddy Act, a notice declaring the
vacancy was posted January 25, 2023. Marcus Partin has expressed interest in serving. If
approved, his term will begin March 21, 2023, and end April 30, 2024.
Planning Commissioner Leon Benner’s term expires on April 30, 2023, and does not wish to be
reappointed; therefore, one scheduled vacancy exists. Greg Balkovek has expressed interest in
serving on the Planning Commission, and, if approved, his new term will begin May 1, 2023,
and end April 30, 2027.
Planning Commissioner Luke Miner’s term expires on April 30, 2023; therefore, one scheduled
vacancy exists. Mr. Miner has expressed interest in continuing to serve on the Planning
Commission, and, if approved, his new term will begin May 1, 2023, and end April 30, 2027.
