A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE- CITY OF REDDING
RELATING TO CANDIDATE STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS FOR
ELECTIVE OFFICE.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of-•
Redding, State of California, in compliance with Section 10012
of the Elections Code of California, does hereby set forth the
following regulations applicable to a candidate' s statement of
qualifications, to be followed whether the election be held by
the City itself or by the County of .Shasta for and on behalf of
the City.

SECTION 1: Each candidate for elective office in the
City of Redding may prepare a statement of qualifications onan
appropriate form provided by the City Clerk. .'. Such forms, may in- '
clude the name, age and occupation of the candidate arida brief
description of not more than 200words of the candidate' s educa-
tion, experience and qualifications expressed by the candidate
personally.
SECTION• 2 : Such statement shall be filed in the office
of the City Clerk when the nomination papers are returned for
filing.
SECTION 3: The Clerk shall mail to each voter, ' together
with a sample ballot, a voter' s pamphlet which contains the
written statements of each candidate' s qualifications.
SECTION 4 : The Clerk shall provide a Spanish transla-
tion of the candidate' s statement of qualifications to those
candidates. who wish to have one.

• SECTION 5: The City may bill each candidate using

these services a sum not -greater than the actual prorated cost.
to the City of printing, handling and translating the candidate' s
statement •incurred by • the City: Only these charges may be levied
with respect o; the candidate's statement, and each candidate
using these- ‘services, shall 'be charged the same.
I" HEREBY 'CERTIFYrthat the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the '3rd day of December, 1979, and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote:
