A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING •
' OF' INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned
by Ellis S. and Veronica J. Foster, 823 Twin View
Boulevard) .
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures which are
structurally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, de-
cay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort
for vagrant or dissolute persons , may be declared a nuisance by
the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein, and •
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
building located on real property as hereinafter described, and
has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and
public welfare, and
WHEREAS , it has been determined that this matter is cate-
gorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
• the City of Redding, as follows :
' That it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
. Municipal Code on the following described property:
All that portion of the N.W. 1/4 of Section 19 , T. 32 N. ,
R. 4 W. , M. D. B. &M. , described as follows:
COMMENCING at the 1/4 section corner common to Sections
• 18 and 19 , T. 32 N. , R. 4 W. , M.D.B. &M. ; thence S. 87°36 '
30" W. , on and along the line common to said Sections 19
•

and 18 , a distance of 858. 66 feet; thence S. 28°54 ' W. ,
a distance of 1357. 80 feet to the true point of begin-
ning of this description; thence S. 25°55 ' E. , a distance
of 192. 90 feet; thence S. 67°03 ' 10" W. , a' distance of
255. 21 feet; thence N. 61°06 ' W. , a distance of 486. 87
feet to the easterly right of way line of California
State Highway U:S. No. 9.9 , as described in the Deed to
the State of California dated September 9 , 1936 , re-
corded November 18 , 1936, in Book 64 of Official Records ,
at page 313, Shasta County Records; thence on and along
said right of way line, the following courses and dis-
tances : N. 28°54 ' E. , a distance of 54 . 31 feet; thence
N. 61°06 ' W. , a distance of 25. 00 feet;utheneeN.:'28°54 '
E. , a distance of 145. 69 feet; thence; leaving Said
right of way line, S. 61°06' E. , a distance of 511. 87
feet; thence N. 28°54 ' E. , a distance, 111. 83. feet to the
true point of beginning of this description.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned'here-
' inabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code, and is hereby ordered
to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to
take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward
a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of
Shasta County for recordation.
I HEREBY. CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 15h day of October , 1979 , and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote :
