A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
CONSENTZNG TO COi1iAENCEh1ENT OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS
AIdD APPLYING TO LAFCO FOR APPROVAL OF THE ANNEXATION
TO TfIE CITY OF REDDING OF ISLAi4ll TERRITORY
DESIGNATED "CI'i'Y OF REDDING ANNEXATION N0. 79-13" ,
(CHURN CREEK ISLAND) .
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Reddinq as follows :
1. . That, pur.suant to the orovisions of the Municipal
Organization Act of 1977 , an informal petition for annexation,
signed by owners oF more than five per cent (5�) of the land
in the hereinafter described territory , by area and by assessed
vzlue as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the
County of Shasta, was filed with the City Council of the City
of Redding on August 6 , 1979 .
2 . That the territory which the petitioners
r.equest be annexed to the City of Redding and which said
City and its Council propose to annex, is island territory
situate in the County of Shasta , State of California, desiynated
"City of Reddinq Annexation No. 79-13" (Churn Creek Island) , and
more particularly described in "Exhibit A" and deticted on
"E;xhibit B" , attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
3 . That tne reason for the proposed annexation is
the advantage to property owners within this territory of
the availaUility of City services such as electric power,
caater, and fire orotection. \

4 . That the City Council hereby requests that the �

Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County commence ��
proceedings for the annexation to the City of Redding of the ••�.

G . That the City Clerk is authorized and directed
to Pile a� certified copy oP this Resolution with the Executive
OPficer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta
County.

PLAN FOR PROVIDING SERVICES AS REQUESTED BY
SECTIaN 35102 Of TFIE GOVERN��IENT CODE
Upon annexation, the following services will be available to the
sub,ject area: Water, sewer, solid-waste collection, police protection,
fire protection, and maintenance of public streets. These services will
be provided in the same manner in which they are provided to all parcels
within the City of Redding. In addition, electric-utility services will
be acquired from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company by the City. It
is not anticipated that sewer service will be extended outside the estab
lished sewer-service-area boundary of the Redding Regional Wastewater
7reatment Plant.
