BE IT RESOLVED }iy the City Council of the City of Redding as follows : � 1 . That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Oryanization Act of 1977 , the City Council of the City of Redding, on June 4 , 1979 , adopted Resolution No. 79-92 , consent- ing to commencement of annexation proceedings and applying to the Local Agency Formation Commission for approval of the annexation to the City of Redding of ianinhabited territory designated "Enterprise Annex No. 79-8" , in response to informal petitions for annexation signed by owners of land in the hereinafter described territory. 2 . That the territory pro�osed to be annexed to the City of Redding is situate in the County of 'Shasta, State of California, more particularly described in "Exhibit A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 3 . That the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County did in session duly assembled on July 18 , 1979 , after notice and heariny, consider and aporove said annexation. , 4 . That Monday , September 17 , 1979 , at the hour of 7 : 30 P .bI, in the City Council Chambers at 1313 California Street, Redding, Shasta County, California, is hereby fixed � 1� � 1. u , • �� . � , � _ • -i- � � � • as the time and olace when and where any person now owniny real property within the territory above described and pro- oosed to be annexed to the City oP Redding , and having any objections to the oroposed annexation , may apoear before the City Council, and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed to the City of Reddiny. The protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time prior to the termination of said protest heariny, and shall state the name or names of the owner or ocaners oE proper. ty affected and the description and area of such property in yeneral terms . 5. The City Clerk of the City of Reddiny is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Redding Record-Searchliyht, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Redding , the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory , said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days pr.ior. to the date set for hearing . 6 . The City Clerk of the City of Redding is further authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Valley Times, a newspaaer of general circula- tion published outside of the City of Reddinq but in the County of Shasta, in which is located the territory oroposed to be annexed, said �ubiication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for the hearing. 7 . The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to file a copy of this Resolution with the cxecutivc officer of LAFCO. -2- ' � � 8 . The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed was assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk , and to any person . who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing on the • proposed annexation. 9 . The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such oroposed annexation - „ � , to be mailed .to the IIoar�l� of Supervisors of Shasta County, since the County' has;,a Tegal interest in certain portions of the territory proposed to be� ennexed: 10 . ��'i'he Ci-ty `C1er'k �is directed to cause. written notice to be given to chief petitioners and such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law. 11. The City Clerk is directed to cause notice to be posted on or near the doors of the City Council Chambers for at least 15 days prior to the date specified herein for hearing, and continuiny. to the time of hearing .
