BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follocas : 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 , a petition signed by owners of more than 58 of the land in the hereinafter described area by siae and by assessed value as shown on t}ie last equalized assessment roll of Shasta County, was filed with the City Council on March 27 , 1979 , requesting annexation to the City of Redding for the reason that the property within the area will benefit from the availability of City services. 2 . That the territory which petitioners request be annexed to the City of Redding and which said City and its Council propose to annex, is uninhabited territory situate in the County 'of Shasta, State of California, hereby designated "Enterprise Annex No. 79-4" and more particularly described in "Exnibit A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference . 3 . That the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County did in session duly assembled on June 13 , 1979 , after notice and hearing, consider and approve said annexation. 4 . That t4onday, August 6 , 1979 , at the hour of 7 : 30 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the Police Department and City Council Chambers Building, 1313 California Street , Redding , Shasta County, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and � `C? � e.. -1- � . ' ' . � , . , � . ;: + where any person now owning 'real•a property �c'oit}iin the territory above described and proposed to �be, .annexed ,to the City of Redding , and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear - �,� . before the Council of the City'of Redding, and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed to the City of Redding . The protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time prior to the termination of said hearing for objections to the proposed annexa- . tion, and shall state the name or names of the owner• or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. „ 5. The City Clerk of the City of Redding is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Redding ' ; Record-Searchlight, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Redding, the city to whicn it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. 6 . The City Clerk of the City of Redding is further authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Valley Times , a newspaper o£ general circulation published outside of the City of Redding but in the County of Shasta, in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for the hearing . 7 . The City Clerk is further authorized and d'irected to file a copy of this Resolution with the executive officer of LAFCO. 8 . The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to chief petitioners and such other persons as may be legally ent'itled thereto, in the manner required by law. 11. The City Clerk is directed to cause notice to be posted on or near the doors of the City Council Chambers for at least 15 days prior to the date specified herein for hearing, and continuing to tne time of hearing .
