BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as follows : 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 , a petition for annexation, signed by owners of more than twenty-five per cent (258) of the land in the hereinafter described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Shasta, was filed with the City Council of the City of Redding on �4ay II , 1979 . 2 . That the territory which the petitioners request be annexed to the City of Redding and whicn said City and its Council propose to annex, is uninhabited territory situate in tne County of Snasta, State of California, designated "Enterprise Annex No. 78-8" and more particularly described in "Exhibit A" and depicted on "Exhibit B" , attached hereto and incorporated nerein by reference. 3 . That the reason for the proposed annexation is the advantage to property owners within this territory of the availability of City services such as electric power, water, and fire protection. ' 4 . That the City Council hereby requests that the Local Agency Formation Commission of Snasta County commence _� v proceedings for the annexation to the City of Redding of the V �9 �� -1- � ' � � territory designated "Enterprise Annex No. 79-8" , pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act of 1977 . 5 . That a plan for providing services within the affected territory is set forth in "�xhibit C" attachecl hereto and incorporated herein by reference, as required by Government Code Section 35102 . 6. That the City Clerk is auttiorized. and directed• to file a certified copy of this Resolution with the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County. Upon ar.nexation , �n= rollowing services �rrill be available to the subject area: City ��vater service, sewer service, garbage and refuse collection and sanitary landfill service, police protection, fire protection, and street maintenance and repair service for any public street. These services will be provided in the same manner in which they are provided to all parcels within the City of Redding. In addition, electric-utility services are to be acquired from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company by the City. Subsequent to tne acquisition, electric service will also be available to the area from the City utility service.
