HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso. 1979-087 Finding That the Public Interest and Necessity Require the Insurance of a Second Limited Ambulance Permit to Roy and Mary Stephens, Doing Business as R & M Medi-Trans � � ' RESOLUTION NO. 7�� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF/THE CITY OF REDDING FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE ZSSUANCE OF A SECOND LI[dITED AMBULANCE PERMIT TO ROY AND MARY STEPHENS , DOING BUSIIQESS AS R & M MEDI-TRANS . WHEREAS, Chapter 6. 10 of the Redding Municipal Code establishes a procedure for the licensing and regulation of " limited ambulances in the City of Redding, and WFIEREAS, in 1977 the City Council issued a permit to Roy and Mary Stephens , doing business as R & M Medi-Trans , for one limited ambulance , after determining that the applicants had com- plied with the requirements of the aforesaid Chapter 6 . 10 , and WHEREAS, said permittees have now requested the issu- ance to them of a second limited ambulance permit at this time, and WHEREAS , the Council Ambulance Committee has investi- gated this application and recommended that a second permit be issued to them, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is not subject to the provisions of CEQA, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that it is tne finding � � of the City Council of the City of Redding , as to the application of Roy and Mary Stephens for a second limited ambulance permit: 6 (a) The vehicle described in the new application and proposed to be used is appropriate for the purpose of carrying or transporting injured or sick persons; (b) The color scheme, insignia, name, monogram or other distinguishing characteristic proposed to be used upon �, w such limited ambulance is not in conflict with and does not � v � � -i- �, _ . � � imitate any color scheme, insignia, name, monogram or other distinguishing characteristic used by any other persbn, in such a manner as to mislead or tend to mislead, deceive or defraud the public; (c) The applicants are fit, willing and able to perform limited ambulance service and to conform to the provisions of this chapter, and such rules and regulations as may be promulgated by the Council; and (d) The public convenience and necessity require this additional limited ambulance service to satisfy the needs of the communi ty. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council determines that the aforesaid applicants therefore shall be issued a second limited ambulance permit for the operation of one additional limited ambulance.
