KO_yrk A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE -CITY OF REDDING APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF KUTRAS PARCEL 15 - TURTLE BAY, • AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY THE MAYOR OF THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO ACCOMPLISH SUCH PURCHASE . . WHEREAS, on November 8, 1966 , the. people of the City . of Redding, by a .majority vote, authorized the City Council and its proper officers to exercise any and all purchase options contained in the Agreement between Frances W. Kutras and the .. • • City of Redding dated March 16,1966 , relating- to the: acquisition by the City of lands commonly known as Turtle Bay; in such time and manner as the City Council shall, in its sole discretion, determine to be in th_-e-=best interests- ofthe- City, and WHEREAS,, the aforesaid Agreement was amended on January - 26 ,- . 1968., to provi'de'•for the purchase of Parcel Year 15, consist • • - k - ing of approximately A. 517 acres., for $37 , 494 . 25, on or before January 31, 1981, and • • - WHEREAS, the 1980-81 Budget includes funds for payment • • of the purchase price of this parcel, since open- space grants are no longer available, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of Redding and its citi-zens ;to.;acquire • • • said parcel of land in accordance with the aforesaid ,Agreement . and Amendment to Agreement, and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categorically exempt. from the provisions -of CEQA, - • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED. by the.City Council ' • of the City of Redding that the purchase of the parcel of land • described on "Exhibit A", attached hereto and incorporated herein c): . t • by reference, is hereby approved,- and the Mayor is hereby ' • • -1- • �. •: authorized• to execute escrow instructions for said purchase for and on behalf of, the City, which provide in part that all escrow costs that al• lto said purchase be.. laid .by the City, and `the..
