RESOLUTION OF• THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' REDDING ORDERING THE 'ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY • DESIGNATED`CITY OF REDDING ANNEX NO. 79-16 TO THE. CITY OF- .REDDING.. ; ,. • WHEREAS , on the 21st. d'ay' 'of• July, 198© ,, 'the:City` Council of the City of Redding 'adopted Resolution,No. 80=165., • • initiating proceedings for annexation to --the City of certain .uninhabited territory designated: City :of.'Redding Annex :No. 79-16,.;• said resolution describing the boundaries of the tern- • tory proposed to be annexed; and . WHEREAS, the Local: Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County.'; ,did in session 'duly assembled on June 11, 1980 , consider' and approve the proposed annexation, and • WHEREAS:, said ResolutionNo. 80-165 .did contain a notice of the day,. hour and, pl.ace where and when the City Council .would_ hear protest's:.-by..any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being not less than 40 days nor .more than 60 • days from date Of passage of said Resolution, and • WHEREAS, on September 2, 1980 , at ..the hour of 7 : 30 P.M. in the• Council Chambers at 1313 California Street, Redding, Shasta; County, California, said time and place • being those .fixed` 'in said Resolution, the City Council did • -hear and pass upon all. protests to said annexation and did -determine,-by resolution •adopted at close of such hearing • ;that protests had. not :been made by the :owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by.::the last equalized assessment roll, nor :C3. by public ownersof one-half of the value of the publicly . • -1- • . • • owned, territory. proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body, and WHEREAS, . said 'territory is contiguous to the City • of. Redding, and is uninhabited territory in the County of • 'Shas'ta, and . 'WHEREAS , owners of more than 25% ofthe real property;.and improvements situated in said annexation by area and by assessed valuation as shown on the last equal- • ized assessment roll of the County of Shasta, have consented • inwritin.g to.the taxing of property within said territory to pay indebtedness and liability of .said City of Redding contracted, incurred and authbrized .prior to and existing at .:the time said territory s ,annexed, NOW, THEREFORE,,- the City Council of the City of Redding 'does resolve as., follows -1. The City . Council makes the following findings • .in • connection herewith: (a) The project is compatible with the Redding General Plan, • (b) The project will not significantly alter existing land form, • (c) . ' 'The project is compatible with surrounding land use, and (d) The project is compatible with the Code • • of the City of Redding, and ratifies the Negative Declaration approved by the; Board of • Administrative Review on May 14 , 1980 . 2 . Based upon said :findings,;. ;the• annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City ,of Redding is hereby.:-approved, and .said 'territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Redding. -2 • - • ,_.; •`' 3. - That said' territory, the....annexation of which • { to the City- of Redding is hereby approved; is all the terri- tory .situate' in the County of Shasta, State of California, more -particularly described in "Exhibit A" , attached hereto and incorporated herein. . 4:. That- the City Clerk of the City of Redding shall certify to the.•-adoption of this Resolution and transmit a certified 'copy hereof along with. appropriate fees to the Executive "Officer Of : LAFCO.
