A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING.
(Commercial Motel at 2035 Market Street, owned by Guido/
Bank of America/Randolph) .
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures which are
structurally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, de-
cay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or a likely resort

for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a' nuisance by
� the City Council of the City of Redding and thereafter abated , as
provided therein, and � �
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal .has 'made an� inspection of the
buildings located on real property as hereinafter described, and
has declared them to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health
and public welfare, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is cate-
gorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental
Quality Act,
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding, as follows :
That it is the intention of this City Council to begin
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code on the following described property:
Lot 1 of Block 74 of Frisbie ' s Addition, as shown on Map
of Frisbie ' s, Waldon ' s , and Honn ' s Addition to the Town '��
of Redding, as per plat recorded October 13, 1887, in �
Book of Old Plats, at page 43, Shasta County Records, �l

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said buildings mentioned
hereinabove are hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided
by Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code, and are hereby
ordered to be abated by repair , rehabilitation, demolition or
removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to
take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code. � �
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the �City Clerk of the City
of Redding be and she is hereby aitthorized and directed to for-
ward a certified copy of this ,Resolution to tfie County Recorder
o£ Shasta County for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Redding on the 19th day of Ma1-Ch , 1979 , and was duly adopted at
said meeting by the following vote:
