A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL-: PROCEEDINGS' .OF ABTEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING• 'MUNICI'PAL CODE ON,
•_. . . CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING.'

WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
• • Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures, which are
structurally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old' age, neglect, de-
cay or other. causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or- a li,kely. •resort
-for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance -by
the City Council of the City. of Redding and thereafter abated as
provided therein, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
buildingslocated on real property as hereinafter described, and
. has declared them to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety; health
.and public welfare, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is cate-
gorically exempt from the provisions of CEQA,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the'.
City of Redding, as follows : •
That it is ,the intention of this City Council to begin
. s . legal. -proceedings of abatement under` Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code on the- property -described on "Exhibit A" , . attached
hereto and incorporated herein by;,,:reference. ,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said buildings: mentioned here
inabove are hereby declared to, be a public nuisance •as provided by
Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code, and are hereby. ordered
'to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition Or removal. .

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the. Fire Marshal and. the '
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to
take all proceedings provided, in Chapter. 9. 3.6 of the Redding
- Municipal Code: '
• BE IT. FURTHER RESOLVED that the City 'Clerk of the City
of -Reddingbe''and she is herebyauthorized and `directed to forward
• a certified copy of this Resolutionto the County Recorder of
Shasta County for recordation.

All that certain real property situate in the County of Shasta,
State of California, described as follows: = '

COMMENCING at the East one-quarter Section corner of Section 15 , , c
of the Reading Grant and running thence, South 42°29 '30" West,
598. 62 feet along the line common to Sections 15 and 20 to a point
in the Westerly right of way boundaryof the California State
Highway as the same existed on April 1, 1930 , thence, North 7°30 ' ": ':
West, 202 . 30 feet on and along the Westerly boundary of said highway
to the point of beginning; thence, North 80°56 ' West, 653.40 feet
to a point, thence , North 7°30 ' West, 200.0 feet to a point; thence,
South 80°56' East, 653. 40 feet to a point on the Westerly boundary
of said State Highway; thence, South 7°30 ' East, 200. 00 feet to

EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion thereof containing 0.02 acres,
more or less, conveyed by Olaf Anderson, et ux. ,to State of Calif-
ornia, by deed dated November 6, 1937 in Book 64 of Official Records
at page 435, Shasta County Records.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM that parcel of land described in the deed
executed by Charles R. Bever and Zella M. Bever to the State of
California dated August 29 , 1956 and recorded .November 15, 1956 '
in Book 513 of Official Records at page 356 , Shasta County Records.

COMMENCING at the most Northerly corner of the G.E. Oaks Tract,
as per map or plat filed at page 38 kn Book 3 of Land Surveys in
the office of the County Recorder of Shasta County, California,
which corner bears South 42°29 ' 30 ' West, 637.78 feet from the most
Southerly corner of the most Easterly quarter of Section 15 of
P.B. Reading Grant; thence, North 7°30 ' West, 220 .75 feet to the
point of beginning; thence, North 80°56 ' West, 633.21 feet; thence,
North 32°57 ' 30" East, 16.41 feet; thence, South 80°56 ' East,
622. 10 feet to Pacific Highway (U.S. 99) 90 feet wide; thence South
7°30' East, 15. 65 feet on and along the Westerly right of way line
of said Highway to the point of beginning, as per map filed October
23, 1933 in Book 4 of Land Surveys at page 28 , Shasta County Records.
