A RESOLUTION OF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
. • : OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT
UNDER CHAPTER ,9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON •
CERTAIN REAL TROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING. (Owned

WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
•' • - Municipal Code provide that all buildings and structures which are
sucturally unsafe, or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, de-
cay or other causes within the City of Redding, which constitute
a fire menace or are dangerous to human life, or, a likely resort
for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by
• • the City Council of the City of Redding- and thereafter abated as
provided, therein, and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has. made an inspection of the
buildings located on real property as hereinafter described, and
has declared them to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safetY, health
-and public welfare, and
- WHEREAS, it has been determined -that this matter is date-
,
gorically exempt from theprovisions .of CEQA,
NOW, THEREFORE, 'BE IT' RESOLVED 'by the City Council of
the City of Redding, as follows : . ._ "
That it is the intention of this City Council to begin
•
legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding'
Municipal Code on the real property situate in the City of Redding, •
County of Shasta, State of. California, described as follows:

.All that portion of the Northwest quarter of the Northeast
quarter of Section 9, Township 31 North, Range 4 West, M.D.M. ,
described as follows : •
' COMMENCING at the Northeast corner of the Northwest quarter .
• •of the Northeast quarter of -said Section 9 ; thence along the
North line of said Section 9 , South' 89 degrees 33' 37" West,
660. 00 feet; thence South 378. 00 feet to the South line of 051
the parcel described in the deed to Clifford B. Goddner, et ux.
recorded in the office of the County Recorder September 15 , 4,4;

1954 in Book 437 of Official Records at page 79, Shasta County
• Records, the point of beginning of this parcel; thence continu-
ing South 150. 00 feet to the North line of the parcel described .
in the deed to Gee E. Fowler, et ux. recorded in the office of •
the County Records, May 25 , 1953 in Book 401 of Official Records
at page. 306, Shasta County Records; thence along the North line
- of said Fowler parcel, East 165 . 00 feet; thence leaving said
• North line, North 150. 00 feet to the South line of said Goodner .
parcel; thence along said South line, West 165. 00 feet to the
point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said buildings mentioned here-
inabove are hereby declared to 'be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code, and arehereby ordered
. to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the
Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to
take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code.
• BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Redding be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward
a certified copy of this Resolution to the County Recorder of
Shasta County for recordation.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting. of the City Council of the City
• of Redding on the 21st day of January,1980, and was duly adopted
at said meeting by the following vote: .
