A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
SUPPORTING AND URGING' PASSAGE.: OF S.'B , THE CONTAINER
DEPOSIT BILL. '
•
WHEREAS', S.,B. 4 ;, the container' deposit bill currently .
before the State Senate, establishes a minimum refundable
•
deposit on all beer and soft drinks in bottles and cans, and
•
requires dealers and distributors to redeem empty containers,
and •
WHEREAS, this legislation will aid in conservation
of resources and energy in that it will result in recycling
of the materials used in beverage packaging, and it also pre-
• seats an. effective litter control measure, and •
• WHEREAS', the City Council deems it in the best
•
• - interests of the City of Redding and its citizens as well as
the entire State of California, that S.B. 4 become law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City
Council of the City of Redding supports S.B. 4 , the container
deposit bill, and urges its passage by the State Senate of •
California.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was

introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
• the City of Redding on the 21st day of January , 1980 , and was
•
duly adopted at said meeting ,by the following vote: •
