LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE ENGINEER AS FILED AND DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO:
(1) SET A PUBLIC HEARING DATE REGARDING THE FOLLOWING
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS: A, B, AND C;
(2) LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS IN THESE DISTRICTS FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND
LIGHTING ACT OF 1972, COMMENCING WITH SECTION 22500 OF THE
STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE
WHEREAS:
A. The City Council heretofore ordered the consolidated formation of the following Landscape
Maintenance Districts under authority granted by the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 as outlined
in Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and
B. The purpose of these Districts is to provide maintenance to those landscaping improvements required
within the public rights-of-way and/or easements by the conditions of development approval for each
District and the general locations as outlined in the table below; and
C. The Engineer has filed his report with the City Clerk according to Streets and Highways Code
Section 22565, et seq; and
D. This Resolution satisfies of those requirements outlined in the Streets and Highways Code Section
22624;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT:
The matters set forth above are true, correct, and are adopted herein.
2. According to the Streets and Highways Code §22623, the Engineer's Report, as filed, is hereby
approved.
3. The Engineer's Report, on file with the City Clerk, contains a complete and detailed description of
the improvements, the boundaries of the District and any zones therein, and the proposed assessments
upon the assessable acres and remaining parcels within the District.
4. The existing improvements for each subdivision in the District are outlined in Part B of the Engineer's
Reports on file with the City Clerk.
5. The general locations of the acres and remaining parcels in the District are outlined in Part A of the
Engineer's Reports on file with the City Clerk.
6. Only costs for the maintenance of landscaping, miscellaneous lighting, mulching, vandalism, repairs
to the irrigation system, electric and water charges, replacement of vegetation as necessary, removal
of trimmings, rubbish, and debris, maintenance of the detention basin, and other improvements to
remove or cover graffiti, administrative costs, painting of any walls, and such other maintenance and
incidental expenses as are authorized by Streets and Highways Code Sections 22526 and 22531 will
be assessed.
A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter
as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding,
California, to address the confirmation and approval of the proposed assessment for the Fiscal Year
2023-24. The proposed assessment for the Fiscal Year 2023-24 is outlined in the table below. The
Council intends to levy said assessment as indicated in the table below for the Fiscal Year 2023-24.
8. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing according to the Streets and Highways Code Section
22626(a).

intersection of Shasta View Drive and Castlewood Drive; Land Park, Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and Rl, generally located
west of the intersection of Buenaventura Boulevard and Sutro Mine Road; Monterey Springs, Units I and 2,
generally located at the intersection of Churn Creek Road and Palacio Drive; Mountain View Heights, Unit 4,
generally located west of Shasta View Drive near Palacio Drive; Oak Meadows Estates, Unit 1, generally
located east of the intersection of Shasta View Drive and Galaxy Way; Oak Mesa Estates, Unit 2, generally
located south of Old Alturas Road off Oak Mesa Lane; Quail Hollow, Unit 3, generally located north of the
intersection of Churn Creek Road and Palacio Drive on Olympic Street; Ravenwood Estates, Units 11, 12, 13,
14, 15, 16, and 18, generally located near the intersection of Old Alturas Road and Rose Tree Lane; Robles
North, Units 1 and 2, generally located at the intersection of Meadowview Drive and Robles Drive; Shasta View
Manor, Unit 1, generally located near the intersection of Tarmac Road and Charade Way; St. Thomas Heights,
Unit 1, generally located at the intersection of Hilltop Drive and St. Thomas Parkway; Stillwater Heights, Units
1, 2, 3, and 4, generally located at the intersection of Old 44 Drive and Carson Drive; and Tierra Bendito,
generally located south of Old Alturas Road off Oak Mesa Lane.
