HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - City Council - 1979-07-30 198 City Council, Adjourned Regular Meeting Police Department & Council Chambers Redding, California July 30 , 1979 12 : 00 Noon The meetingwas called to order at 12 : 05p.m. byMayor Demsher with11 Y the following Council Members present: Gard, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Demsher. Absent: Councilman Fulton. Also present were City Manager Brickwood, Assistant City Manager and Finance Director Courtney, City Attorney Murphy, Public Works Director Arness , Planning and Community Development Director Harris , Street Superintendent Galusha, City Clerk Brayton, and Deputy City Clerk Richter. 1979 Water Revenue Bonds Assistant City Manager Courtney submitted a Resolution pertaining to the 1979 Water Revenue Bonds. He stated that a great deal of team effort was required at City Hall to complete the financing of this project. His recommendation is to adopt the Resolution at this time. In response to an inquiry by Councilman Pugh concerning the terms and the source of funds, City Attorney Murphy advised that some questions must still be settled by the State. However, he concurred with the recommendation of Mr. Courtney that the Council move forward with the project by adopting the Resolution in order to avoid further delay. MOTION: Made by Councilman Pugh, seconded by Councilwoman Gard that Resolution No. 79-127 be adopted providing for the issuance of $5 , 700, 000 principal amount of City of Redding 1979 Water Revenue Bonds and prescribing the terms, conditions, and form of such bonds. Voting was as follows : Ayes : Council Members - Gard, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Demsher Noes: Council Members - None Absent: Council Members - Fulton Resolution No. 79-127 is on file in the office of the City Clerk. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, at the hour of 12 : 10 p.m. , Mayor Demsher declared the meeting adjourned.
