The meeting was called to order by Vice Mayor Demsher with the ,
following Council Members present: Fulton, Gard, Kirkpatrick,
and Demsher. Council Members absent: Pugh
Also present City Manager Brickwood and Deputy City Clerk Richter.
MUNICIPAL AIRPORT SECURITY
Agreements covering security services at Redding Municipal Airport
were submitted from the City Attorney with a recommendation that
they be approved for one year. By agreement, Archie Boek, dba
North State Security Service will provide 24 hour security service
at the Municipal Airport. Mr. Brickwood advised that this will
restore the equivalent of one and one half police officers to
duty inside the City. He said it is a budgeted item. 0
The second agreement is with the County of Shasta and provides
for deputization of the security guards by the Sheriff.
MOTION: Made by Councilman Kirkpatrick, seconded by Council-
woman Gard approving an agreement with Archie Boek, dba North
State Security Service to provide security service at Redding
Municipal Airport, and authorizing the Mayor to execute same.
The Vote: Unanimous Ayes

MOTION: Made by Councilman Kirkpatrick, seconded by Council-
woman Gard approving an agreement with the County of Shasta
providing for deputization by the Sheriff, of the hereinabove
described security guards . The Vote: Unanimous Ayes
REQUEST TO CONSUME BEER - Shasta County Kennel Club
A request was received from the Shasta County Kennel Club to
allow their members to consume beer in the Auditorium area
during the Dog Show to be held August 28 and 29 . It was noted
a private security group had been hired to prevent problems .
MOTION: Made by Councilman Kirkpatrick, seconded by Council-
man Fulton approving a request from the Shasta County Kennel
Club as hereinabove- described. The Vote: Unanimous Ayes
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business , at the hour of 12 : 05 P .M. , Vice Mayor
declared the meeting adjourned.
