A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
DECLARING THE NEED FOR A HOUSING AUTHORITY IN THE CITY
OF REDDING, CALIFORNIA, AND DECLARING THE CITY COUNCIL
TO BE THE COMMISSIONERS THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Redding,
California, hereby determines, finds and declares, in pursuance
of the Housing Authorities Law, as amended, that®
(a) Unsanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accommoda-
tions exist in the City of Redding, California;
(b) There is a shortage of safe and sanitary dwelling
accommodations in the City of Redding, California, available t1l
persons of low income at rentals they can afford;
(c) There is need for a Housing Authority to function
in the City of Redding, California;
Section 2. In pursuance of the authority vested in the
City Council of the City of Redding, California, by the Housing
Authorities Law, as amended, and particularly by Section 34290
thereof, the City Council does hereby declare itself to be the
Commissioners of the Authority, with all the rights, powers, duties,
privileges and immunities vested by the Housing Authorities Law
in the Commissioners of an Authority. It is further declared that
the Mayor of the City of Redding is hereby designated to serve
as the first Chairman of the Housing Authority of the City of
Redding. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to issue
a certificate evidencing the establishment of the City Council
as the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of
Redding, and to file said certificate in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Redding, California.
Section 3. This Resolution is adopted pursuant to the
provisions of Section 34242 of the California Health and Safety
Code and shall become effective immediately.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Redding on the 3rd day of February 1975, and was
duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Anderson, Demsher, Fulton, Pugh, and Denny
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None

CERTIFICATE OF DECLARATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF REDDING TO BE COMMISSIONERS OF THE HOUSING
AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF REDDING AND DESIGNATING
THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF REDDING TO BE THE FIRST
CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding, Calif-
ornia, held a duly authorized meeting on the 3rd day of February
1975, and
WHEREAS, at said meeting Resolution No. 75-13 entitled
"A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Redding Declaring
the Need for a Housing Authority in the City of Redding, California,
and Declaring the City Council to be the Commissioners Thereof",
was passed and adopted,
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the provisions of Sections
34270, 34272 and 34290 of the Housing Authorities Law, as amended,
and by virtue of my office as Mayor, I certify that the City
Council of the City of Redding has been declared and established
to be the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of
Redding, effective February 3, 1975, and the Mayor of the City of
Redding has been designated by the City Council to serve as the
first Chairman of the Housing Authority of the City of Redding
as so established®
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto signed my name as
Mayor of the City of Redding, California, and caused the official
corporate seal of said City to be affixed hereto this 3rd day of
February, 1975
