It appears that you are aware of the moral problems and low starting wages for Redding Fire Department staff. Well paid and content fire and police departments are a must in a well run progressive City. The City police have met these goals, we fear you have left the Redding Fire Department far behind. It is embarrassing to know that when I retired from Sierra Pacific Industries (non management) 10 years ago my wages were higher than what is today's City fire fighter starting wage. This situation has hurt our city's reputation as well as endangered the citizens. Please do whatever it takes to keep the 10 lateral qualified firemen in Redding. Thank you for reading this plea from concerned Redding homeowners. • Sin rely, Paul & Dawn Black
