A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
COMMENDING AND HONORING KRISTEN SCHREDER FOR SERVICE
TO THE CITY OF REDDING
WHEREAS, Kristen Schreder has served as a member of the Redding City Council from December 2, 2014, to December
6, 2022, providing eight years of dedicated service to the community; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Kristen Schreder served two terms as Mayor from December 5, 2017, to
December 4, 2018, and December 7, 2021, to December 6, 2022, and has executed the role of City Council Member and
Mayor with pride and integrity; and
WHEREAS, Kristen Schreder served her community in many ways, not only as Mayor and City Council Member, but also
serving as the City Council liaison to the following City of Redding departments, committees, and agencies: City Clerk,
Community Services, Electric Utility, Finance, Housing, Information Technology, Personnel, Public Works, Audit
Committee, Community Development Advisory Committee, Community Services Advisory Committee, Redding Capital
Services Corporation, Redding Housing Authority, Redding Joint Powers Financing Authority, Redding Municipal Library,
City of Redding as Successor Agency to the Redding Redevelopment Agency, and the following local agencies Downtown
Collaborative, Economic Development Corporation, Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee, League of
California Cities,Public Access TV(Shasta County Arts Council),Redding Area Bus Authority,Shasta County Air Pollution
Control Board, Shasta County Community Action Board, Shasta County Remote Access Network (RAN) Advisory
Committee, Shasta Public Library Citizens' Advisory Committee, Shasta Regional Transportation Agency(SRTA), and the
Youth Violence Prevention Council of Shasta County.
WHEREAS,Kristen Schreder has provided support and leadership during the formulation, construction and/or completion
phases of the following projects and successes:
• City Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic including development of the Covid-19 Economic Response Plan
• Cannabis Regulatory Framework and Taxation
• High Speed Fiber Broadband Ring
• River Crossing Marketplace
• Garden of Lights
• Downtown Revitalization
• Carr Fire Response
• Enterprise Resource Planning Software Upgrade
• Critical Incidence Response Team
• Housing Crisis Declaration and Emergency Housing Sites
• Resurfacing of the Soccer Park
• Replacement of the Computer Aided Dispatch System
• Caldwell Junior Bike Park
• Improvements to the Coordinated Entry and Point in Time Count Process
• Blueprint for Public Safety
• Formation of the Communications Team
• Air Service Enhancements
• REU Fire Mitigation Plan
• Increased Redding Police Department Sworn Officer and Community Service Officer positions
• Increased Redding Fire Department positions �
• Redding Riverfront Specific Plan Update N
• Downtown Specific Plan Update �
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council ofthe City of Redding commends Kristen Schreder �
for her dedication and the many contributions she has made to the City of Redding and its citizens.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 6th day of December, 2022, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
