THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR. PUBLIC .IMPROVE- j, .' .
MENT, TO WIT, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A _
WATER STORAGE TANK 'AND .RELATED FACILITIES INREDDING
RANCHETTES, AND ACCESS ' T:HERETO. (Verret property, A.P.

BE IT RESOLVED,by. the.-City Council of the City of Redding
:
as follows: -
Section. 1: The City Council of the City; of 'Redding finds,
and etermines that the. :public convenience and necessity` reg

the construction arid maintenance of a 'water storage tank .in Redding
Ranchettes, and access thereto, and Government Code Section 37350. 5
authorizes the City to -acquire the necessary real property . interests
for said public improvement by eminent domain. . .
Section 2. TheCity Council finds and determines `that '
the subject project has been planned and is to 'be .loca'ted: in the
manner that will be most compatible with the greatest public good
and the least private injury.`
Section 3. In compliance with CEQA requirement's-.,' the . -
'City Council makes the following additional findings in connection.: '
herewith: . . . -
(a) The project is compatible with the' Redding General -
Plan;
(b) • The. project will not significantly alter existing
land form; i
- (c) The project is compatible with surrounding'-land use; '
(d) The project is compatible with theme=Redding:. Municipal: ..
Code;
and ratifies the Negative Declaration approved by .the .Board .of Ad
ministratire Review. on March 19, 19.80. .

:Section 4 . The City Council of the City of Redding also
• finds and determines that the acquisition offee title to the parcel
of real property in the County of Shasta, State of California, which
is described in Exhibit A. attached hereto, is necessary for the , con-
.
strUction and maintenance of the' aforesaid public improvement, and
the easement which is also described in• said Exhibit A is necessary
for access 'thereto, and that the taking' of saidproperty -interests
is necessary therefor. •
Section '5. The City Attorney of the City of Redding is
hereby authorized,, empowered and directed to: .
1. Commence an action or. actions in eminent domain in
the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the • :
County of. Shasta, in the name of the City of Redding, to acquire
the necessary property interests.
2. To incur in the name of the City of Redding and on '

behalf thereof, all obligations and expenses necessary to acquire . • .
the above mentioned prdperty interests. •
Section 6. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause •
a certified copy of this Resolution to be recorded in, the.:.office

• of the Shasta County Recorder. , :
