A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
CONSENTING TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS AND
APPLYING TO LAFCO FOR APPROVAL OF THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF REDDING OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED CITY OF
REDDING ANNEXATION NO. 83-6 (HIGHWAY 44 AND OLD OREGON TRAIL
AREA) .
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as
follows:
1 . That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal
Organization Act of 1977 , a petition for annexation, signed by
owners of more than five percent (5%) of the land in the herein-
after described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown
on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Shasta,
was filed with the City Council of the City of Redding on Septem-
ber 8 , 1983.
2. That the territory which the petitioner requests be
annexed to the City of Redding and which said City and its
Council propose to annex is uninhabited territory situate in the
County of Shasta, State of California, designated "City of
Redding Annexation No. 83-6 (Highway 44 and Old Oregon Trail) ,
and more particularly described in Exhibit "A" and depicted in
Exhibit "B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is the
advantage to property owners within this territory of the availa-
bility of certain City services .
4 . That the City Council hereby requests that the Local
Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County commence proceedings

for the annexation to the City of Redding of the territory
designated "City of Redding Annexation No. 83-6" , pursuant to the
Municipal Organization Act of 1977 .
5 . That a plan for providing services within the affected
territory is set forth in Exhibit "C" attached hereto and incor-
porated herein by reference, as required by Government Code
§35102.
6. That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to file
a certified copy of this Resolution, along with appropriate fees,
with the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commis-
sion of Shasta County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 5th day of December , 1983 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

Beginning at the section corner common to Sections 2, 3, 10 and 11, T. 31 N. ,
R. 4 W. , M.D.M. ; thence along the east line of said Section 3, N. 0°17'44" W. ,
27.71 feet to the south line of Old 44 Drive; thence along said line N.
89°45'01" W. , 564.72 feet; thence S. 73°37'40" W. , 292.64 feet to the east line
of Old Oregon Trail ; thence N. 66°22'48" W. , 80.00 feet to the west line of Old
Oregon Trail ; thence along the south line of said Old 44 Drive N. 73°12' 10" W. ,
120.39 feet to the north line of said Section 10; thence along said line being

EXHIBIT "C"
PLAN FOR PROVIDING SERVICES AS REQUESTED BY
SECTION 35102 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE
REDDING ANNEXATION NO. 83-6 HIGHWAY 44
Upon annexation, police and fire protection will be provided to the subject
area. Sewer would be provided only upon formation of an assessment district by
the owners to extend sewers to the properties and payment of any applicable
connection and special benefit charges. Street maintenance will be provided
for existing public streets on the County Road Log only to the extent they are
presently improved. Water would be provided to those parcels not in the Bella
Vista Water District when the owners extend water lines to their properties and
payment of any applicable connection and special benefit changes. Within the
Bella Vista Water District, the district will provide water unless the district
determines that Redding should provide that essential service. Extension of
the City electric service to the area will be done by the owners when they want
such service.
