A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
CONSENTING TO COMMENCEMENT OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS AND
APPLYING TO LAFCO FOR APPROVAL OF THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF REDDING OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED CITY OF
REDDING ANNEXATION NO. 83-3 (CANYON CREEK ROAD AREA) .
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding as
follows :
1 . That, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal
Organization Act of 1977, a petition for annexation, signed by
owners of more than five percent (5%) of the land in the herein-
after described territory, by area and by assessed value as shown
on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Shasta,
was filed with the City Council of the City of Redding on June 6 ,
1983 .
2. That the territory which the petitioner requests be
annexed to the City of Redding and which said City and its
Council propose to annex is uninhabited territory situate in the
County of Shasta, State of California, designated "City of
Redding Annexation No. 83-3 (Canyon Creek Road) , and more
particularly described in Exhibit "A" and depicted in Exhibit "B"
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
3. That the reason for the proposed annexation is the
advantage to property owners within this territory of the availa-
bility of certain City services.
4. That the City Council hereby requests that the Local
Agency Formation Commission of Shasta County commence proceedings

for the annexation to the City of Redding of the territory
designated "City of Redding Annexation No. 83-3" , pursuant to the
Municipal Organization Act of 1977.
5. That a plan for providing services within the affected
territory is set forth in Exhibit "C" attached hereto and incor-
porated herein by reference, as required by Government Code
§35102.
6 . That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to file
a certified copy of this Resolution, along with appropriate fees,
with the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commis-
sion of Shasta County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 21st day of November , 1983 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:

R. 5 W. , M.D.M. , lying westerly of the P. B. Reading Grant Line,
said line being City of Redding boundary line.

EXHIBIT "C"
PLAN FOR PROVIDING SERVICES AS REQUESTED BY
SECTION 35102 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE
REDDING ANNEXATION NO. 83-3 CANYON CREEK ROAD
Upon annexation, the following services will be provided to the subject area:
electric, police and fire. Police and fire protection will be restricted in
their ability to respond until such time as improved access is provided to
the area. Sewer would be provided only upon formation of an assessment dis-
trict by the owners to extend sewers to the properties and payment of any
applicable connection and special benefit charges. Street maintenance will
not be provided until streets are constructed and dedicated in accordance
with City Standards. Solid-waste collection will not be provided until ade-
quate access is provided to the area. Storm-channel maintenance will not be
provided until channels are developed to a maintenance-free condition. Water
would be provided to the area by the Centerville Community Services Agreement
unless the district determined that Redding should provide that essential
service.
