RESOLUTION NO. 1j-1/7
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
SUMMARILY VACATING A PORTION OF MARY STREET NORTH OF OVER-
HILL DRIVE (A-9-80) .
WHEREAS, certain real property owned by the City of Redding
in fee has been heretofore reserved for street purposes and the
said property consists of Mary Street as the same is set forth on
map and plan on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City
of Redding and the City Council proposes to vacate a portion of
said street which is more particularly described in Exhibit "A"
and depicted on Exhibit "B" attached hereto, in accordance with
the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways and Service
Easements Vacation Law (Streets and Highways Code, Section 8330,
et seq. ) ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding finds and
determines that said portion of Mary Street is excess right of
way not required for present nor prospective street purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redding
resolves and orders as follows:
1 . That the Council makes the following findings in
connection herewith:
(a) The project is compatible with the Redding General
Plan;
(b) The project will not significantly alter existing
land form;
(c) The project is compatible with surrounding land
use; and

• (d) The project is compatible with the Redding Munici-
pal Code.
2. The Council previously ratified the negative declara-
tion approved by the Board of Administrative Review on October 8 ,
1980 .
3. That certain real property in the City of Redding,
County of Shasta, State of California, being a portion of Mary
Street, as the same is more particularly described in Exhibit "A"
and depicted on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and incorporated
herein, is hereby declared to be excess right of way and surplus
property and the same is hereby vacated as a public street.
4 . That the City Clerk of the City of Redding be and
hereby is directed to record a certified copy of this resolution
attested by the City Clerk under the seal of the City of Redding,
in the office of the Shasta County Recorder.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 7th day of November , 1983 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Demsher, Fulton, Pugh, and Gard
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Kirkpatrick

EXHIBIT "A"
A strip of land, five feet (5 ' ) wide, the westerly boundary of
which is described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the westerly right of way line
of Mary Street and the southerly right of way line of the
Southern Pacific Railroad; thence easterly on and along said
Southern Pacific Railroad right of way, 76 . 00 feet to the point
of beginning; thence running the following course:
Southwesterly 105 feet more or less to a point on said westerly
Mary Street right of way, 143. 00 feet southerly from the point of
commencement.
