RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 83-110 AND ORDERING THE VACATION
AND ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF HENDERSON ROAD BETWEEN THE
HARTNELL AVENUE EXTENSION AND REDDING TRANSIT MIX AT 2509
HENDERSON ROAD (A-14-81) .
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 83-110 contains an inaccurate
statement with regard to CEQA proceedings undertaken in this
matter; and
WHEREAS, proceedings have been duly conducted and held in
accordance with the provisions of the Public Streets, Highways
and Service Easements Vacation Law, Streets and Highways Code
Section 8300 , et seq. ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding finds and
determines that the hereinafter described real property is not
necessary for present or prospective street purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redding
hereby resolves and orders as follows:
1 . That Resolution No. 83-110 is hereby rescinded.
2. That the City Council make the following findings in
connection herewith:
(a) The project is compatible with the Redding General
Plan;
(b) The project will not significantly alter the
existing land form;
(c) The project is compatible with the surrounding
land use; and
(d) The project is compatible with the Redding Munici-
pal Code;

and the City Council hereby recertifies the Environmental Impact
Report (EIR 2-81) certified by the Planning Commission on
February 9, 1982.
3. That certain real property in the City of Redding,
County of Shasta, State of California, being a portion of Hen-
derson Road between the Hartnell Avenue extension and Redding
Transit Mix at 2509 Henderson Road, and as the same is more
particularly described in Exhibit "A" and as illustrated in
Exhibit "B" attached hereto and incorporated herein, be and the
same hereby is vacated and abandoned as a street right of way,
subject to the following stipulations:
(a) Retention of necessary utility and drainage
easements.
(b) Dedication of a corner rounding at the southwest
corner of Hartnell Avenue and Henderson Road.
(c) Installation of six-inch vertical curb on the
south side of Henderson Road west from Hartnell
Avenue to the beginning of the proposed
cul-de-sac.
(d) Abandonment is not to occur until Parkview Avenue
and Hartnell Avenue are constructed.
4. That the City Clerk of the City of Redding be and
hereby is directed to record a certified copy of this Resolution,
attested to by said City Clerk under the seal of the City of
Redding, in the office of the Shasta County Recorder.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 18th day of July , 1983, and

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: All that portion of the City of Redding
described as follows:
That portion of the southwest one-quarter of Section 6,
Township 31 North, Range 4 West, M.D.M. , Shasta County,
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Parcel 2 of Parcel Map
No. LS 40-81 as shown on the map filed in Book 22 of Parcel
Maps at Page 100 , Shasta County Records; thence along the
northerly line of said Parcel 2 , northeasterly along the arc
of a 261 . 01-foot radius curve concave to the northwest,
having a radial bearing of S. 25°50 ' 01" E. , through a
central angle of 62°05 ' 00" , an arc distance of 282. 82 feet;
thence N. 2°04 ' 59" E. , 164. 20 feet; thence northerly along
the arc of a tangent 127. 50-foot radius curve concave to the
southeast, through a central angle of 77°00 ' 00" , an arc
distance of 171 . 35 feet; thence N. 79°04 ' 59" E. , 237. 80
feet; thence leaving said northerly line of said Parcel 2 N.

feet; thence southwesterly along the arc of a tangent
20-foot radius curve concave to the southeast through a

Reserving therefrom easements for all existing underground
and overhead utilities, the exact location of which is not
determined at this time.
