A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9 . 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING (OWNED BY CARL S. BALL,
DECEASED, 'AND LOCATED AT 3404 RAILROAD AVENUE).
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding-
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally, unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or othercauses which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a
likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a
nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there-
; after abated as provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal has made an inspection of the
building located on real property as hereinafter described and
has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health
and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to
begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the
Redding Municipal Code on the following described property:
The real property situate in the City of Redding, County of
Shasta, State of California, described as follows:
Lots 1 and 16 , Block 1 , as shown on the map entitled "Map of
Grand View Heights Subdivision, resubdivision of abandoned
Blocks 3 and 4 , Boardman Addition to Redding and a portion

of the P. B. Reading Grant, Shasta County California" , filed
in the office of the County Recorder of Shasta County, April
19, 1939, in Book 5 of Maps at page 51 .
• BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned
hereinabove is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as pro-
vided by Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is hereby .
ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation', demolition or
removal. •
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the. - Redding Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk . of. the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the Shasta County Recorder
for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 17th day of January , 1983, and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
