RESOLUTION NO. Hy/22_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ESTABLISHING WATER UTILITY RATES FOR SERVICE TO CUSTOMERS
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF REDDING AND THE
BUCKEYE SERVICE AREA.
WHEREAS , Section 14. 08 . 310 of the Redding Municipal Code
provides that the City Council shall establish water utility
rates by resolution; and
WHEREAS, due to the increased cost of operation and mainte-
nance of the water system and to provide funds for the capital
improvement program of the water utility, it has been recommended
that the City Council adopt new increased water utility rates as
established in the attached "City of Redding Water Utility
Schedule of Rates" , which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit
"A" ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has carefully considered this
recommendation and has reviewed the existing water utility rate
structure and has studied the increased costs of operation and
maintenance and the capital improvement program of the water
utility and deems it to be in the best interests of the City of
Redding to establish the new increased water utility rates as
proposed; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the requirements of CEQA under
Section 15273 as it relates to water rates and is of the opinion
that the proposed water rate increase is not subject to CEQA,
with said findings being based on the following: the general
water rate increase may be used to meet operating expenses,

wages; employee benefits, to allow repair and replacement of the
existing system, to increase capacity within existing service
areas as a product of continuing growth and more efficient use of
land, to provide adequate domestic and fire flows within existing
service areas , to provide for reconstruction and replacement of
substandard portions of the system, to make emergency repairs as
the need arises, to purchase, pump, store and transmit water to
existing service areas, to obtain services and supplies, to plan
and manage the system, and to process payments;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Redding, pursuant to Section 14 . 08 . 310 of the Redding
Municipal Code, does hereby approve and adopt as the established
rates for municipal water service to customers within the corpo-
rate limits of the City of Redding and the Buckeye Service Area,
those rates and charges set forth in the "City of Redding Water
Utility Schedule of Rates" which is attached hereto as Exhibit
"A" and incorporated herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this
resolution shall be July 1 , 1984 as to the water furnished to the
customers of the City of Redding and the Buckeye Service Area
water utility after that date for which meter readings occur on
or after August 1 , 1984.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution Nos. 77-46 and 77-47
adopted on March 21 , 1977 and Resolution No. 83-189 adopted
September 19 , 1983 are hereby repealed and rescinded and shall be
of no further force and effect from and after July 1 , 1984 .

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding is hereby directed to maintain available certified copies
of this resolution for inspection and review by any interested
person or persons .
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 18th day of June , 1984 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
