RESOLUTION NO. 37 - ?S
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
PERTAINING TO THE REDDING RODEO ASSOCIATION' S AND ASPHALT
COWBOYS ' ANNUAL RODEO WEEK CELEBRATION.
WHEREAS, the 36th annual Redding Rodeo Association and
Asphalt Cowboys celebration will be held during the week of May
14 through May 19 , 1984; and
WHEREAS, certain requests have been made of the City Council
in connection with parking and the use of certain streets during
said Rodeo Week; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of
Redding to encourage the growth and success of said Rodeo Week;
and
WHEREAS , it has been determined that this matter is not
subject to the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding as follows:
1. That all of the foregoing recitals are true and cor-
rect.
2. That it is deemed to be in the best interests of the
City of Redding to grant the requests of the Redding Rodeo
Association and the Asphalt Cowboys and to that end the Chief of
Police, in cooperation with the Director of Public Works, is
directed to accomplish the following:
(a) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on Market Street
between Placer and Sacramento Streets from 8: 00 a.m.

Thursday, May 17 to 2 : 00 p.m. Friday, May 18 , for
Roaring Gulch activities .
(b) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on both sides of
Center Street and California Street from Riverside
Drive to Shasta Street and on both sides of Shasta
Street from Oregon to Market Street, between the hours
of 7 : 00 a.m. and 12 : 00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 for the
Rodeo Parade.
(c) Prohibit parking and vehicular traffic on the Parade
Line of March between the hours of 8 : 00 a.m. and 12 : 00
p.m. on Saturday, May 19, said Line of March to origi-
nate on California Street and Center Street and to
proceed south on California Street to Sacramento
Street, then east on Sacramento Street to Pine Street,
then north on Pine to Tehama Street.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 19th day of March , 1984 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Fulton, Kirkpatrick, Pugh, and Gard
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Demsher
ABSTAIN: COUNCILMEN: None
