W47 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING (OWNED BY THE ESTATE OF CARL E. MIESKE, AND LOCATED AT 1526 WILLIS STREET) . WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there- after abated as provided therein; and WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal of the City of Redding has made an inspection of the building located on real property as herein- after described and has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard to safety, health and public welfare; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor- ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code on the following described property: The real property situate in the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at a point on the east line of Block 9, 158 . 92 feet southerly from the northeast corner of Block 9 of Breslauer ' s Addition to Redding as the same is shown on the map entitled "Map of town of Redding and Additions, Bres- lauers Addition, Shasta County, California" filed in the office of the County Recorder of said Shasta County on November 8 , 1887 in Volume of Old Plats at page 62 thereof; thence running westerly and parallel with the line dividing Lot 1 from Lot 2 in said Block 9 , a distance of 210 feet to the line dividing Lot 2 from Lot 7 in said Block 9; thence running northerly along the said line dividing Lot 2 from Lot 7 and parallel with the easterly line of said Block 9 , a distance of 54. 97 feet to the northwest corner of said Lot 2; thence easterly along the dividing line between Lots 1 and 2 , a distance of 210 feet to the easterly line of said Block 9; thence southerly along the easterly line of Block 9, a distance of 54. 97 feet from the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned herein- above is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by Chapter 9 . 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is hereby ordered to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Shasta County Recorder for recordation.
