RESOLUTION NO. 81/-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING OF
INTENTION TO BEGIN LEGAL PROCEEDINGS OF ABATEMENT UNDER
CHAPTER 9. 36 OF THE REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE ON CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF REDDING (OWNED BY FRED AND DOROTHY
LAWLER, AND LOCATED AT 1039B CYPRESS AVENUE) .
WHEREAS, the provisions of Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding
Municipal Code provide that all buildings or structures located
within the City of Redding which are structurally unsafe or are
dilapidated from old age, neglect, decay or other causes which
constitute a fire menace or are dangerous to human life or a
likely resort for vagrant or dissolute persons, may be declared a
nuisance by the City Council of the City of Redding and there-
after abated as provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Marshal of the City of Redding has made an
inspection of the building located on real property as herein-
after described and has declared it to be unsafe and/or a hazard
to safety, health and public welfare; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this matter is categor-
ically exempt from the provisions of CEQA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redding that it is the intention of this City Council to
begin legal proceedings of abatement under Chapter 9. 36 of the
Redding Municipal Code on the following described property:
The real property situate in the City of Redding, County of
Shasta, State of California, described as follows:
A portion of Lot 26 , Olivia Addition to the City of Redding,
Shasta County, California. '

Commencing at the most westerly corner of Lot 26 , Olivia
Addition, City of Redding, Shasta County, California; thence
along the southwesterly line of said Lot 26 , S. 64°29 ' E. ,
120. 00 feet to the point of beginning of this parcel , said
point being marked by an iron pin; thence continuing S.
64°29 ' 00" E. , 103. 72 feet to a point marked by an iron pin;
thence leaving said southwesterly line , N. 19°49 ' 30" E. ,
166 . 87 feet to a point marked by an iron pin; thence N.
64°29 ' 00" W. , 50 . 04 feet; thence N. 19°22 ' 00" E. , 167. 09
feet to a point on the north line of said Lot 26; thence
along said north line W. 64°29 ' 00" W. , 55. 00 feet to the
northeast corner of that certain parcel recorded in Book 297
at page 461 , Official Records, Shasta County, said point
being marked by an iron pin; thence along the easterly line
of said parcel S. 19°22 ' 00" W. , 334 . 09 feet (record S.
19°52 ' W. , 335. 68 feet) to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said building mentioned herein-
above is hereby declared to be a public nuisance as provided by
Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal Code and is hereby ordered
to be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fire Marshal and the Board
of Appeals of the City of Redding are hereby directed to take all
proceedings provided in Chapter 9. 36 of the Redding Municipal
Code.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Redding be and hereby is authorized and directed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the Shasta County Recorder
for recordation.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was intro-
duced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Redding on the 21st day of February , 1984 , and
was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote:
