A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING:
{1) CONFIRMING T�IE MAPS OF THE ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS
CONTAINEI}IN THE ENGINEERS'S REPORTS dN TILE WITH T�IE CITY
CLERK.
(2) CONFIRMING THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS AND QRDERING THE
LEVY AM�UNTS FISCAL YEAR 2422-23 PURSUANT TO THE
LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972, CflMMENCING WITH
SECTI(?N 2254Q OF THE STREETS AND HIGHVVAYS CODE.
WHEREAS:
A. On June 7,2022,by Resalution 2422-048,the City Council approved the RepQrts of the Engineer as
filed with the City Clerk relating to the Landscape Maintenance Districts outlined in the table belaw
and gave notice of the time and place of the Ju1y 19, 2022, public hearing regarding the levy and
collection of assessments for Fiscal Year 2422-23; and
B, A general loeation of each Disfrict is included in the table below and maps of these Districts are
attached to the Engineer's Reports on �1e with the City Clerk; and
C. The purpose of these Districts is to provide maintenance to those landscaping improvements
required within the publie rights-of-way and/or easements by the conditians af development approval
for each District and the general lacations as outlined in the table below; and
D. The Engineer has filed his Report with the City Clerk pursuant to Streets and Highways Code
Section 22565, et seq.; and
E. This Resolution is made in satisfaction af those requirements set forth in the Streets and Highways
Code Section 22631; and
F. The assessments for Fiscal Year 2022-23 are not an increase within the meaning of Streets and
Highways Code §22630.5 because the cost of living adjustment provided for herein was approved
at the time of'the formation of the Distriets; and
G. The public hearing, duly and properly noticed, eommenced at the Council Chambers, 777 Cypress
Avenue, Redding, California on July 19, 2022, and was concluded prior to the adoption of this
resolution.At the publie hearing,the Gouncil gave every interested person an opportunity to object to
the proposed assessments.
H. All 1ega1 prerequisites to the adoption of this resalution have occurred.

NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS RES4LVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT: �
I. The matters set forth abave are true,correct, and are adopted herein. �

2. The Report of the Engineer, on file with the City C1erk, contains a full and detailed description of the �
improvements, the baundaries of the District and any zones therein, and the proposed assessments �
upon the assessable acres and remaining pareels within the District. �
�

3. The existing impravements for each subdivision in the District are set forth in Part B of the
Engineer's Reports an file with the City C1erk.
4. Pursuant to Streats and Highways Code Section 22631, the maps of the assessment districts
addressed herein and contained in the Repart of the Engineer are can�rmed.
5, The general locatians af the acres and remaining parcels in the District are set forth in Part A of the
Engineer's Reparts on file with the City Clerk.
6. Only costs for the maintenance of landseaping, miscellaneaus lighting, mulehing, vandalism,
repairs to the irrigation system, electric and water charges, replacement of vegetation as
necessary, removal af trimmings, rubbish, and debris, maintenance of the detention basin, and other
impravements to remove or cover graffiti, administrative oosts, painting af any wa11s, and sueh other
maintenanee and incidental expenses as are authorized by Streets and Highways Code Sections 22526
and 22531 will be assessed.
7. The assessments against each developable 1ot or remaining parcel located within tha Districts for
Fiscal Year 2022-23 are canfirmed, adopted and levied as outlined in the table below, except that an
assessment shali not be levied on property owned by a federal or state governmental agency ar another
locai agency.
8. The City C1erk shall forthwith transfer to the Auditor-Controller and Assessor-Recorder af Shasta
County a certified eopy of this resolution and a certified copy of the assessment maps corttained in the
Engineer's Report for the Landscape Maintenance Districts autlined in the table below.
9. The City Clerk gave notice af said hearing pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code Section
22b26(a).
