A RESC}LUTION tJF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY l�F REDDING:
{1) CONFIRMING THE MAPS OF THE ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS
CONTAINED IN THE ENGINEER'S REPORTS ON FILE WITH TIIE
CITY CLERK.
(2) CONFIRMING THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS AND ORDERING THE
LEVY AMC?UNTS FQR FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 PURSUANT TO THE
LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972, COMMENCING WITI�
SECTION 22500 (JF THE STREETS AND I�IGHWAYS CC}DE.
WHEREAS:
A. On June"7,2022, by Resolution 2422-047,the City Council approved the Reports of the Engineer
as filed with the City Clerk relating to the Landscape Maintenance Distriets outlined in the table
below and gave notice of the time and place of the July 19,2Q22,public hearing regarding the levy
and collectiQn of assessments far Fiscal Year�422-23; and
B. A general location of each District is included in the table below, and maps af these Districts are
attached ta the Engineer's Reports on file with the City Clerk; and
C. The purpase of these Districts is to provide maintenance to those landscaping improvements
required within the pubiic rights-af-way and/or easements by the canditions af develapment
approval for each District and the generallaeations as outlined in the table below; and
D. The Engineer has filed his Report with the City Clerk pursuant to Streets and Highways CQde
Seetian 22565, et seg.; and
E. This Resolution is made in satisfaetifln of those requirements set forth in the Streets and F-Iighways
Code Sectian 22631; and
F. The public hearing, duly and properly noticed, cammenced at the Council Chambers,777 Cypress
Avenue, Redding, California on July 19, 2022, and was concluded prior to the adoptian af this
resalution.At�he public hearing,the Council gave every interested person an opportunity tc�abject
ta the proposed assessments; and
G. A111egal prerequisites to the adoption of this resatution have occurred;
NOVV,THEREFORE,IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CIT�CC}UNCIL THAT:
1. The matters set forth above are true,correct, and are adopted herein.

2. The Repart of the Engineer, on file with the City C1erk, contains a full and detailed description of �
the impravements, the boundaries of the District and any zones therein, and the proposed �.:r•

assessments upan the assessable acres and remaining parcels within the Disfriet. m�.

3. The existing improvements for each subdivision in the District are set forth in Part B of the
Engineer's Reports an file wiYh the City Clerk. �,�

4. Pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Section 22631, the maps af the assessment districts
addressed herein and cantained in the Report of the Engineer are confirmed.
5. The general locations of the acres and remaining parcels in the District are set forth in Part A of
the Engineer's Reports on file with the City C1erk.
6. Only costs for the maintenanee of landscaping, miscellaneaus lighting, mulching, vandalism,
repairs ta the irrigation system, electric and water charges, replacement of vegetation as
necessary,removal of trimmings,rubbish,aud debris,maintenanee of the detention basin,and other
impravements to remove or cover graffiti, administrative costs, painting of any wa11s, and such
other maintenance and incidentai expenses as are authorized by Streets and Highways Code
Sections 22526 and 22531 will be assessed.
7. The assessments against each developable lat or remaining parcel located within the Districts for
Fiscal Year 2422-2023 are confirmed, adoptad, and levied as outlined in the table below, except
that an assessment shall nat be levied on praperty owned by a federal or state governmental agency
or another local agency.
8. The City Clerk shall forthwith transfer to the Auditor-Cantroller and Assessor-Reeorder af Shasta
Counry a certified eopy of this resolution and a certi�ed copy of the assessment maps contained in
the Engineer's Repart for the Landscape Maintenance Districts Qutlined in the table below.
9. That the City C1erk gave natice of said hearing pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code Section
2262(a).
